WHAT KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT!?!?!?!?! I feel so cheated! No epilogue? Nothing???? REALLY????? B-but I wanted to know how many kids they were gonna have!! This isn't fair!!!!!! GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! ITS NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!
In all honesty I wasn't looking forward to reading this book, I just didn't think I would like it. Turns out it was my favourite in the series. I don't remember my feelings towards the first book, Halo, but I remember getting slightly bored during Hades. When I first read the blurb for Heaven I thought it was going to be like Hades except Beth would be stuck in Heaven the whole time which, thankfully, wasn't the case. I really enjoyed the characters and I found myself laughing at some of the things they were saying. The ending was also good. I was expecting God to show up or someone important and give Beth the choice of becoming human, so I liked that she had to fight for it. The only difference to the ending that would have put me more at ease is Gabriel and Ivy being reunited with Beth as well, maybe even Molly. But you can't always get what you want.
This was a struggle - an unbelievable, painful struggle. I am so happy that its is over. The only saving grace was the writing - I love her writing, just not this story. I’ve never been one to throw around “toxic masculinity” or felt so whitewashed or wrapped up in ancient gender roles. Why do all YA fantasy novels need to be a trilogy (at the minimum)? This whole lot of nothing would have been fine if it was all jam-packed into “Halo”. We didn’t need half of the events that dragged it out into three books, or the cringey “well I guess you’re a man so you have a future, how about I just talk about babies and never do anything useful with the celestial life that I was blessed with?” Thank God (hehehe) I didn’t throw my money away buying this series.

When will I finally read a book where the couple isn't co-dependent? Switching genres for a while...
Heaven was certainly better than Hades, but not quite as good as Halo. Yes, they have been through a lot - some that seemed a but unnecessary, but that was a horrible ending leaving a lot of unanswered answers. At least it's an improvement from Hades, but Halo is still ultimately the best.
These books are a guilty pleasure for me. I must admit it. They're fun, I don't have to think too hard, but they are there for enjoyment.
My biggest complaint right now is that the author has been posting pictures of herself as Bethany and a male model as Bethany and Xavier/Jake on her Facebook page, one of which, she's smoking with him. They're very dark and glamorous-looking. I hate it when smoking is glamorized to the Young Adult Market. Her writing is geared towards teens.

Is it just me or does she look like Cheryl Cole from British X-Factor and Girls Aloud here?
She seems to do a lot of stressing what being a good girl is all about in her novels and how important it is to be a good example of purity, yet she posts pics of herself playing Bethany while smoking?

Bethany didn't like going to Hades and she didn't find anything redeeming in Jake, yet she's posing seductively with a model that's supposed to be him and doing one of his vices in these pictures? Smoking is not like Bethany at all, at least in her books. If the author herself wants to smoke, more power to her (although a friend of mine just died from lung cancer in July, I'm not very sympathetic to those to glamourize smoking lately).
UPDATE: I saw her tweet on her profile about the actor/model she's posed with in these pictures, and when I looked it up, she has changed her twitter profile to say, "Writer/actor. Living in Hollywood. Left my heart in Mississippi." I wonder if she's going to lobby to play Bethany if the movie comes out.
This tweet makes me curious. Is Bethany human and that's how she's going to get out of the angel/human marriage thing?

Eh. I really enjoyed the first book and the premise, and this one ended it well, but really, this trilogy just wasn't what it should have been.
Well, actually 3.5 stars. It was a satisfying, if not predictable final book. I enjoyed the story though at times found myself wondering if we really needed all the roadblocks. And the twist with Xavier, while it worked with the story (sort of) felt a little forced and convenient.
But I enjoyed this final book and the series. Def worth the read
