A global pandemic has occurred, no one knows what caused it or its mode of transmission but once infected a person changes into something monstrous - a “Blob, Outer or Cluster”. Following the individual stories of people around the world, every person is impacted in one way or another. Each person sees the infection with a different lens; a priest centering a religion around the infected,  a scientist conducting experiments for a “cure”, or a family waking up to a bump in the night.

Inside Out is a super quick read, under 90 pages, and I gobbled up every second of it (no pun intended). I love how each story built on previous stories to have the reader gain more knowledge about the pandemic as the novella went on. Based on reviews I thought Inside Out would have been more gross, but it was wasn’t too bad. If you love pandemic fiction, Inside Out is definitely worth a read and a must read for any horror lover.

An entirely interesting lil book! I very much so enjoyed the anecdotal style of writing, going through different people's accounts in order to piece together what is happening and how it's effecting society. The horror of the book itself was great! I found it very unique, yet relatable. I also think the author did a great job of capturing realistic human personalities, as can be quite clearly related to attitudes about our current pandemic.

This was really gross, but a fast, interesting read. I liked the interweaving stories about a pandemic that melts bodies.

Interesting theme and story line. I like that it showed different people and story’s throughout the book. I only gave it two stars but I think it just wasn’t for me. Too short with not enough depth. But still good.

I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it to anybody who loves goopy, slimey horror. It was short but covered so many different concepts! Not only did it gross me out at points, but it also made me feel things. Easy 5 stars ⭐️

Listened to the audio book. Great narration. I got creeped out by this one. 28 Days franchise is the vibe I got from this.

Holy geez! Inside Out by Lor Gislason is one of the most interestingly written books I’ve read in along time! Our narrator Nick Bouchard gets a 4.5/5⭐️ while the book itself gets 1/5🤢 + 1/5⚖️ + 4.25/5⭐️ overall!

Take post apocalyptic & mess it with a news reel & a military briefing room. That’s what happens in this truly remarkable debut novella. Indie horror meets themes of 80s classics when a mysterious infection spreads through the world, people and animals start melting into horrific monsters.

This book is both disgusting and intriguing. I liked the way it was written, including scientific reports.
