Low (no?) conflict story that consists of 3 things: good food, lush nature, the most tender and horny T4T explicit sex scenes you could ever wish for. Impeccable! Thank you E.E. Ottoman for this lovely, peaceful, loving escape đź’›

I feel so conflicted leaving 2 stars. I think this book has some really lovely aspects to it. The spicy scenes are well written, there are moments where the characters are endearing, and the representation in the book is refreshing. My big issues are that the characters have no substance, the story is not set up well, and there is not much of a plot. If just one of these issues was going on, it could be overlooked but all 3 together just took away some of the enjoyment out of reading this. There really is no build up to intimate scenes, there is no "want" the characters are just immediately touching. Some wistful glances here and there would have been a nice addition. I wish there was more about the characters' inner worlds in this story. Overall I just wish there was more substance to all of the characters.

as a vessel for t4t4t erotica, this was lovely. as a novella? (so-so motion). i was taken out of a lot of the initial scenes by how fast-paced and sudden the romantic involvement between the main characters was. very little was dedicated to any semblance of plot or relationship development before they started kissing. it was jarring to flip the page and go "oh this is what we're doing now?" i wouldn't recommend this to someone looking for a romance, but i had a good time anyway.

When I first saw this featured for Scribd’s pride month, I was excited to listen to something specifically with trans characters, but this isn’t really a story but in faint outline. There are brief flashes of insight into the characters, but they are terribly few. Mostly, this is a smut vehicle, which if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s great, but I wanted to know more about the inner worlds of these characters and their world. Honestly, this reads like something I would have received in a writer’s workshop with decent bones, but would provoke the conversation about “show don’t tell” that’s the basis of so many conversations about the differences in writing fiction versus writing good fiction.
