A really nice comic about horses, friendships and being yourself and following your dream.

Even though I was never a Horse Girl, this was still enjoyable. Especially as someone who has drifted from someone they once thought was their best friend. I always love Faith Erin Hicks's art and the story, while quite brief, was sweet and relatable. I would read more if there was more!

What a refreshing book! Good plot and characters without any junk in the book-just a few instances of the word “sucks”. Nice story about true friendship.

The style of the art is cute (but I know that's what I'm going to get with Faith Erin Hicks). The plot is kind of low key in a way that feels just a bit lacking. The characters were a bit flat for me and I can't quite work out why. Honestly it really bugged me that Victoria apologised for their first encounter but Norrie didn't. As someone who was a shy kid who got lashed out at by people who were being too full on when I was just anxious, I really did not like it. The end was reasonably neatly tied up though. We got a nice conclusion on everything.

It was a short fun read. Although I will say that this is more geared for people who are more into horses. I am not at least not anymore. There are a lot of complex relationships that were shown in these books. Including that of Taylor and Vickie.

This is a sweet, short graphic novel about loving to ride horses and the competitive nature of some horse girls/boys. But it’s also about liking nerdy sci-fi shows and cosplay. I liked that the main character stuck to her instincts to just love riding horses and to have a well-rounded life. This will resonate with horse riders and anyone who has a hobby they love. I anticipate lots of kids will pick this one up.

Ride On is about figuring out one’s place as they fall out with friends who may not have the same goals as them and finding new friends that are accepting with all aspects of you, and how this is okay! So much of this felt true when it comes to middle school friendships. Oh, and all of this is surrounded by horses and riding competitions (and a little bit of sci-fi love!). Another gem by Hicks!
