**Thank you to Simon and Schuster in connection with School Library Journal's Picture Book Palooza for the review copy. This in no way changed my opinion**

I loved the other entries in this series and this is no exception. Reynolds knows how to make the book just the slightest bit creepy while also being funny. The books make great Storytime books.

This one features a crayon that helps Jasper become a better student, but it develops an unhealthy dependency on Jasper and keeps appearing, no matter what Jasper does to try and get away from it. The original scene of him finding the crayon I think is meant to evoke [b:It|830502|It|Stephen King|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1334416842l/830502._SY75_.jpg|150259] for the adult reading the book, as the crayon is sitting on a sewer grate in front of an opening like Georgie's paper boat. The references are clever and the story is fun. Would recommend!

This book was so much fun! A great way to practice inference skills with younger (5-7yo) kids, as the titular creepy crayon's actions are never explicitly spelled out in the text.

Basically the upper limit of my tolerance for scary.

This book had me and my son rolling in Reynold's new addition to the Jasper Rabbit, Creepy series. Jasper finds a perfectly pointy purple crayon hanging out by the gutters on the street (don't do it Jasper!). He's been having some troubles with his grades at school and this creepy crayon helps him improve his test scores and become an overall better student strangely enough. But the crayon becomes too attached and doesn't like it any time Jasper tries getting rid of it. Just like the carrots and underwear in the previous stories, the illustrations and facial expressions are hilarious and the ending is great! Definitely would love to add these to my personal collection!

The third book in Aaron Reynold's creepy series did not disappoint. And the moral dilemma in creepy crayon really took the creepiness to a next level.

Maybe don't read this while you're listening to an adult horror book where the haunted item keeps returning. This one was definitely creepy.
