For the beginning part of this book I was less than impressed. The pacing was off. But the second half made up for it! I was hooked and invested in Sloane’s story. I was very interested in the world of Nagea and the Orisha Gods. 
Warning this book has tons of triggers and leaves a bittersweet feeling. Can’t wait for the second book

This book is so dark that it felt a bit too unrealistic. Everything goes wrong and is super intens. Personally I think the story should stop here. No happy feelings when reading this for sure.

3.5 stars. One of the biggest problems with this book for me was the ages of the characters as they seem much older than 15 years old.
