I still really like Kaitlyn in this book of the series. Her discovering her passion was a great scene, and I start liking Martin a lot more in this book. His family is HORRIBLE. But that ending. Heartbreaking.

I am completely satisfied with how this story ended. I love books that have so much good in them and are steamy and then conflict! So conflict occurs, breakup ensues... yes, yes, yes! I want them to get back together obviously, but I want him to realize he was wrong and I want Martin groveling at her feet. I am looked forward to reading more.

This book picked right up where book 1 Attraction ended with Kaitlyn Parker at her Lab partner Martin Sandeke's party watching him with another girl. But Martin manages to quell squash the misunderstanding and then him and Kaitlyn give into the attraction she has been fighting.

They are so cute together. I love Kailyn's clear sense of right and wrong, and how she works hard to stay true to her values. She manages to get Martin to stop being so angry and share a little of his plans. Unfortunately, the plan Martin has to get vengeance has collateral effects for many people. Kaitlyn has to make a hard choice about how she can counteract Martin's plan. Will their love survive Kaitlyn's choice?

I highly recommend having all 3 books on hand before beginning to read this series. I don't know how people managed to read these books and wait for the next one. I love the writing, the humor, the character development and the narration of the series. What a refreshing change. I am about to move on to book 3.

The ending ripped my heart out, and I’m hoping the next book puts the pieces back together.

In the space of a week, Kaitlyn and Martin have gone from being as close to strangers as two people can get to taking their first tentative steps in a relationship. But Kaitlyn's inexperience and Martin's waspish quick temper are causing some problems. Adding to their problems are their families who could well end their relationship before it's even begun.

Elements of Chemistry is three books, but it's really one story in three acts. I plan to review all three books together after I've read the final book, but this the second instalment is excellent. Penny Reid is a writer for readers. I mean she recognises that people who read tend to be a little smarter than your average joe and her books reflect that knowledge.
