A bit predictable but it's twisty and turny.

I really wanted to like this book.

It tries to be everything at once and fails to do so. On one hand there’s simply too much and a lot of stuff is mentioned as important only to never be mentioned again, while on the other hand there’s actually very little that happens and all the characters seem to say every single thought out loud without any filters. Everything else is explained in every single detail and I found I was able to predict the story from the get go and had to wait over 200 pages before mc did…

I really don’t know why I finished it. I think I hoped that it would become more but it never did.

You’re wrong. I lost myself in caring for you. I cared for you so much I forgot that I deserve to be happy too. I’m sorry you don’t believe in me…I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.” The plot twist?! Phenomenal. Did not see it coming at all. Mouth was literally on the floor. There are some slow parts in the book where it lost my attention but it always caught it again by adding such interesting events that I couldn’t have guessed would happen. I found myself trying to figure the hints/foreshadowing out but was wrong every time. I love to see the women empowerment in this book and I like that it’s a key focus. Now I want to read more books with a twist on original fairytales.

Fast, engaging and queer. Its a beautifull debut novel and a real break from the mold of the  fairytale story
