4,5 stars.
Very interesting concepts.
This is one of those books where you can read it 10 times and still learn or understand something new each time.

It was an interesting book, written as a sort of collection of aphorisms. It was well written, but part of the way through I began to wonder if there was really any true philosophical insight within or if the author was just drawing a metaphor between life and various forms of game-play. I admit I may have been expecting something entirely different than what the book was meant to offer. All in all it is a thought-provoking book and definitely worth the time to read.

An amazing book that deserves more than one reading to get to the core... It is a manifesto for being that requires deep contemplation...

I think the thing I like best about this slim, but substantive book is the way Carse refuses to define its core terms, letting the unfolding exploration speak for itself. Read his description of a "Master Player" (chapter 16), and you'll never watch a James Bond movie in quite the same way again.

So focused on the intricacies of language, the author forgot to include any meaning of his words.

Deep and thought provoking, reads like spiritual writing or poetry in places. But, so what?

Frankly, I'm not sure what to think of this. There are some fascinating ideas, but there's also some less than solid chains of logic. Then again, maybe I just didn't understand it.
