cute! definitely can tell it was written in 2014. many things would not fly today.

This might just be because I hate love triangle tropes, but this book sucks. I don’t like how she just jumped between guys and didn’t even think about it other than “i shouldn’t but i find myself kissing him back” like shut up and think dude. Anyway, in my personal opinion she should of just gotten closure from Patrick and not have been with anyone else. Bringing relationships into college (especially a far away one) is never good. Anyway this was annoying to read, but i wanted to finish it. I honestly need an award for having to push through this

It's difficult to like a book when you can't understand the main character's decisions and actions

In the beginning, I could empathise with the main character, Molly. She makes a mistake and ends up getting bullied and ostracized by everyone in her small town. Everyone makes mistakes and I felt for Molly after witnessing how much it affects her life. I did not expect Molly to make the exact same mistake over and over again and when things came crashing down around her, I stopped feeling sorry for her. However, I started liking Molly a little more when she started owning her shit. Molly is also a terrible friend. Not only does she go MIA on her best friend, she also ruins what could have been an amazing friendship with Tess, Patrick's girlfriend.

I hate Patrick. Hypocritical people really annoy me and Patrick is one of the worst hypocrites.
SpoilerHe slut-shames Molly after she 'cheats' on him. He then cheats on his girlfriend with Molly and still slut-shames and insults Molly.
I can't even deal

99 Days deals with a controversial topic, cheating. I try to avoid books that have cheating in it because I don't think that there's anything that can make hurting people and playing with their feelings okay and 99 Days made me want to avoid books with cheating even more

I expected 99 Days to deal with slut-shaming and double standards and while there are subtle hints and dialogue about double standards, it isn't explored in depth. All the slut-shaming just ended up making me mad

I appreciate that the characters are real, flawed and unlikable, but there are so many elements in 99 Days that just don't work for me

I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. Not gonna lie, the low ratings made me a bit afraid to start reading it but I decided to keep an open mind and form my own opinions of this book.

I loved the lesson taught in this book. I think Katie Cotugno nicely executed the problem with double standards and how double standards can be applied in every situation, even if it is done unconsciously. It kind of reminded me of the classic The Scarlet Letter and I think the author intended for that since Molly did mention a parallel between her situation and Hester Prynne's in one chapter. Since I'm reading The Scarlet Letter right now for school, it makes it all the more exciting.

Although Molly made a few bad decisions that could have been avoided with simple communication between her and the people around her, I believe that she is one of the strongest characters I've read. I love how she stuck up for herself in the end and realized that she deserved to be treated better.

Many people say that the ending was unsatisfying and that there needs to be a second book for this whole story to wrap up. But I honestly loved the semi-unresolved ending and I think a second book, where everything would be resolved, would defeat the purpose of the author's message. The fact that certain matters were unresolved made everything so much more plausible and realistic and I loved that.
Spoiler I really loved how Molly did not end up with ANY of the two brothers because honestly, what both of them did to her was so gross and Molly deserves way better.

Overall this book left me pleasantly surprised. It was a light read with a deeper meaning in between the lines and I enjoyed it.

Really good? Yes. Enjoyable? Not so much. Messy and messed up and complicated. I liked it, even when I didn't. I think.

(Some stuff i'm going to say are SPOILERS so im warning you)

This book was a roller coaster ride. I cant say i didnt like it, but it made me crazy mad! At the begging i felt sorry for the girl, i didnt think what she did was so bad, since it wasnt cheating, the only bad thing was that she went with her ex-boyfriends brother. When Gabe, the brother started being nice to her and going on dates and stuff, i thought it was going to be just a love story between the two. But then she started going out with her ex, Patric while dating Gabe and while having befriended Patric's girlfriend! At the beggining it was harmless just talking their problems out... and i was so glad that he kind of forgave her. But then she starts doing stuff with him when he wasnt with his girlfriend (broken up for a bit) and when he was with her (She on the other hand still with Gabe). That made me so angry, she knew it was wrong, she even said so... she said that she should stop, she didnt. She told Gabe she loved him and she meant it but still went behind everyones back. Thats when i stopped feeling sorry for her and wanted to strangle her!! I was expecting all of this to blow in her face (and i would enjoy it), and it did, everyone found out and got mad at her... but in my opinion what she did this time was a thousand times worse than the previous act, BUT THEY WERENT US MAD AS THE FIRST TIME! WHAT THE HELL! I was expecting a little torture from the others to her and to Patric since he was the one who led her on... but i got nothing, in three days everything was kind of okay. The other thing lasted for a year!!
