I attempted to read it and couldn't get past chapter 3. I did not care for the author's writing style and they had some strong ideas of what "skinny" means. I would not recommend this book.

It's a book about going vegan which I was not expecting. This would be like a crash course book. It's not what someone should be reading if they don't know the ins and outs of nutrition. For example, they have way too many processed foods on their menu list for daily eating. It's very easy to be vegan without jacking yourself up with swarms of packaged and/or canned foods. The main point of the book is to promote weight loss but they also throw in the idea of healthy living. These two can coexist but not quite the way they did it. Plus the idea of waiting to eat until you're "starving" before each meal is ludicrous. Being that hungry is distracting. Eat when you're hungry not when you're ravenous.

So, here I am, a fat bitch, and I'd like to alter myself so I'm a skinny bitch. But I don't know if this book is really what's going to do it for me.
While I loved parts of the book (they were spot on about sugar consumption and portion control), other parts seemed heavy-handed and misguided (I get that we should probably be eating vegetarian food, but I don't think highly-processed faux meat products are the way to go.)
Did it make me think twice about my eating habits? Yes.
Did it live up to all of the hype? No.

this book did not contain any information that I did not already have. It is a staunch supporter of the vegan lifestyle and provides ample support for making such a lifestyle change (better for your body, better for our environment). The book claims to be a how to guide to stop eating crap and the authors' solution is to simply... wait for it...stop eating crap. Putting that aside the personality of this book was entertaining, the language is profane and but a welcome way to sort through all the research and rhetoric packed into this book. if you are like me and wavering on the idea of banishing animal products from your diet, it is a worthwhile read.

This book made me think a lot, about veganism and changing my lifestyle. I could have done without being called an asshole, though.

If you're looking for books on veganism, I would recommend Sarah Kramer or Colleen Patrick-Goudreau.

I was surprised that this book was advocating a vegan diet, when the title didn't really indicate that at all. It didn't bother me too much, however, because there was still lots of good info to glean from the book. I got a kick out of the blunt and salty language and writing style used by the authors as well. I also thought their product recommendations were most helpful.

I love older diet books; it gives a real insight into that aspect of our culture during that time. This one felt like I was being yelled at sometimes, but in a good way. But it's fun to see what they believed then to what we "know" now and if anything still holds up. If you read this, take everything in this book with a grain of organic salt because I'm not 100% sure on the validity of any of it.
Read this book for fun, not as a guide to diet. But definitely think about eating less meat or not all.

Meh. Some useful information, but a little extreme for me. I guess I'm not meant to be a skinny bitch.

This was so good and informative! I’m on my health journey, lol, so I wanted to read this as I saw a lot of people talking about it. I have already been a lazy vegan for the past 7 years (still eating seafood but not any other animal products) but this gave me a new perspective on what that means all together. I honestly didn’t know about how disgusting the meat industry was and now I have a new perspective on my veganism. There were such good tips and diet related recommendations that I will be implementing into my daily routine. As well as ensuring that I use as many natural and organic products as possible. I have always known that your mindset is key to changing your reality, so this is a really good book which emphasizes that as well. Overall this is a really good book for people that need extra information and tough love when it comes to making healthier choices.
