I really don't have the words for how much I adored this book.  It's been awhile since a story and characters have grabbed a hold of me like this one did.  I am not kidding when I say that I didn't put this book down.  Read it straight through.
This was my favorite of the series and maybe one of my favorite Jewel books.
Gabby starts off the story as a naïve Preacher's daughter just getting to college but she grows into a strong, resilient woman right before our eyes.  I love the way she talked, no beating around the bush with that one.  She had me laughing so hard.    And Ben was everything I love in a book boyfriend.   I feel like he swapped places with Gabby.  He started off confident and by the end of the story, showed us his vulnerable side.   There are so many details of this story that I want to discuss but I don't want to spoil it in any way.  I would give this all the stars if I could.   So many emotions, angst and tragedy that they persevered through.  Gahhh, I just want to read it all again.

5 STARS

I love this series with my whole heart!! And it's so bittersweet that its over... #crying

I didn't know where this one was going, I like to go into books blind and naturally I did the same with this one. From the previous two books, I thought this was going to go in one direction but I was SO HAPPY to find where this one actually went.

I LOVE BEN!!

This actually has a trope that I am not the biggest fan of but I should know by now that if Jewel writes it, I WILL LOVE IT!! And this one is no different. Highly Recommend this story and this series!!

A Good Book is THAT book that you didn’t know you NEEDED to read until you start reading! Once you start be prepared to get hooked by these characters and binge read from beginning to end!

This is book 3 in the Sunday Morning series and while it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone reading the prior books helps understand the dynamics of small town, religious strict family dynamics.

In this installment, it’s baby sister Gabby’s story. She’s graduated from high school and her parents agreed to let her go away to college. She had a particular reason for picking this particular school and hence a very unique and heartfelt coming of age story begins.

While it’s Gabby’s story, it’s also Gabby, Ben and Matt with Gabby’s roommate Olivia,  a formidable secondary character who added to the story.
These characters were absolutely delightful and each of them brings their own quirks and personality resulting  in a VERY GOOD BOOK!

Oh…I had no idea what Gabby’s plan was, and her incorporating her childhood bestie Ben and her roommate Olivia to execute said plan spelled disaster but I needed to investigate further!
I adored these characters and how likable and well developed they were. Gabby is so naive and genuinely innocent but she’s also so precocious, quirky and fiercely independent! Olivia is a crackerjack who is a true loyal friend. Ben is a sweetheart, he adores Gabby and will do anything for her until he can’t…
Be careful what you wish for because when Matt sees Gabby in a different light, well things are not what she imagined!
The push and pull, the hilarious banter and quirky situations made this story totally unputdownable and addictive as she navigates the marriage of small town
ethics with college town experience.

𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 was an amazing ending to an extraordinary series!

Ben and Gabby's story was so much more than I could have ever imagined. Like every other Jewel. E. Ann book that I have read in the past, 𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 took me on an emotional ride.

Have you ever found yourself reading a book, and then you realize you have stopped breathing; and that your heart is aching? Have you ever been so engrossed in the story that you begin to feel every single emotion that the characters are feeling? Has your heart ever broken for a character, so much so that you wish you could go through the pages and give them the love and encouragement that they so desperately needed?

Jewel E. Ann did that for me in 𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤. As an author, she does an exceptional job drawing you in and making you fall in love with the characters, and when their heart breaks, your heart breaks. When their souls are tortured, so are yours. You are rooting for them and when they are in pain, it is enough to make you lose your breath! There were so many gut-wrenching and tear-jerking moments for me while reading in 𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤! I expected that, having read other books from this author, but every time it happens, I almost have to catch myself and recover a little.

What I love about this author is just how human and raw and real her characters are. Ben and Gabby as characters were just perfection. At just 19-years-old, the strength with which they faced life, and its lessons was inspiring. I loved that they did not always make the right decisions. I loved that they were flawed and true to themselves. I loved their friendship, their chemistry, their love, their devotion to one another. It was just all so beautiful!

𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤  was anything but predictable.  Just when I thought I knew how things would go, a wrench would be thrown in. There were so many shocking moments and twists and turns in this story.

With every word, every sentence, every chapter, I wanted more and before I knew it, I had read the entire book. I just could not put it down! I am so thankful for this series and yet I am so sad to see it end. Sarah, Eve, and Gabby will always have a special place in my heart. I feel like I watch them grow up, like they were a part of my family. They were so inspirational. Their stories broke my heart but put it back together again and, in the end, healed so many broken parts of me.

𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤  was an amazing read that I highly recommend!

Thank you to Jewel E. Ann and @valentine_pr_ for providing me an early copy of this ebook. All opinions are my own.

The final book of a 5⭐️ series! 🤩 All the emotions, all the ugly tears, and I loved every minute. 🥰

Gabby has gone away to college, following her long-term crush, Matt (her older sister’s ex-boyfriend). But, she’s not alone, she’s also brought her forever best friend, Ben. What is this goody two-shoes preacher’s daughter gonna get up to living so far away from home for the first time? 👀

These books just sink their teeth into you from the start, and won’t let you go until you get to the last page! (Why yes! I did lose sleep in order to keep reading! 😂)

I was living for Gabby experiencing life in the “real world” for the first time, and learning so much. 🤭 But you know it won’t be all fun and games, and when that turn happened, I was absolutely devastated. So many tears, so much pain, I was feeling it for these characters.

As with the other books in this series, even though the characters are so young (younger than I usually enjoy) there’s just something about their story and the way they are written that truly resonates with me as I read.

A beautiful coming of age story, full of love, and full of so much emotion. A new series to add to my list of all time favorites.

Another five star read for me about Gabby and her love for Matt…or is it Ben?

I love that just when you think the story is going one way, it changes. The author throws a twist at you.

Gabby is off to college in Michigan for the purpose of following Matt, her sister’s ex-boyfriend. Gabby’s best-friend, Ben, came with her. He has loved her forever, but is afraid she only sees him as a friend. (She’s been pining for Matt forever.)

But things change when Ben kisses her…

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for the advanced readers copy. Thank you to the author for the #gifted signed final copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

HAPPY PUB DAY TO THESE CUTIES 💚

man oh man reading this book was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. after loving and binge reading the absolute hell out of the first two books i was quite taken aback by how i didn’t immediately fall in love with gabbys story. four years had passed since eve’s book but gabby was still very immature and i just could not get myself to be anything but annoyed by her for the first 25%.

it was a major trust the process read for me, i found myself kind of contemplating dnfing but i just wanted to love this one as much as the others so i went to peak around at a few reviews to motivate me to keep on going and i stumbled upon another review. seeing this review and how they were at the same place i was at the time gave me ALL the push i needed to keep going!!

AND MAN AM I SO GLAD I DID, obviously this turned out to be a 5 star read for me as well.

my feelings toward gabby and the situation for the first 25% aside, i ate this up. i really enjoyed how this story wasnt set up in the normal formatting of a romance once we finally moved onto just ben and gabby. the angst was SO good. i was completely shocked by the way these two were torn apart and brought back together.

gabby & bens growth in this book both together and separately is INSANE. these two are so so perfect for one another and even though it took what felt like forever to get there theyre the kind of couple you look at and just know they were made to be together 🥹

i am so distraught that this series is over but damn what a series it was 😭 i cannot wait to see what angsty turmoil JEA makes me go through next though 🤭

“A Good Book” wasn’t a bad read, but it definitely wasn’t my favorite of the series. I struggled to connect with Gabby — not because she’s a bad person (she’s not), but because so many of her decisions felt rooted in a lack of self-awareness and her sheltered upbringing. There were moments she said or did things that genuinely gave me pause, and I found myself more frustrated than empathetic at times.

That said, I did appreciate how dramatic and messy the story got — it felt fitting for Gabby’s inner world and made sense given where she was in her journey. And of course, I loved Matt. I really loved getting to see Matt as his own character here, not just as Sarah’s ex or Isaac’s brother. He’s always been the golden boy, and watching him make human mistakes, struggle, and still show up in meaningful ways made him so much more relatable and real. His growth was subtle but important.

Then there’s Ben — Gabby’s childhood friend — who, time and time again, makes decisions that revolve around her, even when he doesn’t fully realize it. He, too, makes very age-appropriate, human mistakes. His character felt true to life in that messy, complicated way where love and loyalty blur a lot of lines. The love triangle between them felt believable, and I was 100% rooting for one of them (you’ll know who if you’ve read it).

It was also great to see more of Sarah (and Isaac) throughout this one — I missed my girl! Their presence added a layer of familiarity and heart that grounded the chaos.
And finally, I still absolutely despise the parents in this series. Their reactions to each daughter’s story have consistently felt unhinged and, honestly, unforgivable at times. You’d think this time around they’d be the most outrageous — but nope. And don’t give me the excuse that they’ve been “broken down” by the first two stories. That’s lazy.

Overall, A Good Book had its moments. It made sense for Gabby’s story to be the most dramatic — she’s been bottling it all up — but it just didn’t hit the way the first two did. Still, if you’ve come this far in the series, it’s worth the read to see how it all unfolds.

What I will say is this: despite not loving this particular installment, this entire series had a profound impact on me. I found myself reflecting on my own life, my own relationships, and what it means to be seen, known, and loved. Jewel E. Ann’s writing is just out of this world. Even when I don’t connect with a character, I can’t help but admire the care, the layers, and the attention to detail she gives to every single one of them. That alone makes every book worth the time.
