It was ok. Basic info that you could probably get anywhere. You could stand at the library and finish this book in about 15 minutes.
A quick and easy read with practical information, some rules seem like common sense but well good reminders
Nothing earth shattering although I do disagree about the vitamins. His view on statins is very interesting. Quick read on why it's important to take care of yourself.
for as immediately useful as this book is i'm a bit ashamed at how long it sat in my reading queue. there's no fluffing in this book. it's an incredibly quick and useful read with practical application and concise dismissal of junk science. the recommendations are quite practical and come with sound, reasonable explanations.
taking care of ones self isn't rocket science, but developing habits, and applying the reminders in the book will likely pay significant dividends.

Packed with helpful advice and reminders learned several new things to factor into daily life.
Exactly what it says it was.
Great straight-forward advice.
Simple and easy to understand. Challenges myths and fad of the minute health advice. Will reference again and again.

This is a short guide of simple steps extrapolated from the statistics and discussion in his his previous work, The End of Illness. My favorite: If a *box* of food sports encouraging phrases such as low-calorie, low glycemic index, fat-free, high fiber, etcetera, it's probably super processed and not good for you. ;) You might say "duh" to a lot of his suggestions, but it's a great checklist to see how well you are incorporating common sense habits to give yourself a healthier lifestyle.

He could be more strict with his recommendations. "Avoid eating red or processed meat more than 3 times a week"? How about, avoid eating meat! Otherwise this is a great book.
