Book one got me so excited to read book 2. I liked the sassy fmc, I hoped for an interesting plot with a strong fmc and mmc. I like the writing style of the author. But I saw the tag bsdm too late :( . This wasn’t an issue until the mc stopped understanding what ‘no’ means and from there it just goes downhill. And when she begs him to stop, and he just doesn’t - it isn’t a romance anymore. If this turns you on, then this books is for you!

J'ai un peu moins aimé because I don't condone garder quelqu'un sur une ile contre leur gré pendant un an wesh. I don't really like when the h of the book is helpless for so long.
And i really dislike the part on the private island, it gave off Epstein vibes and I just had a weir feeling.
But at least the auteure is aware of it because Camillia makes a ref to G. Maxwell in the next book.

Ruin begins pretty much where the first book left off. This time around Celia and Edward bare their souls, peeling back the surface layers to expose what's beneath, if you've read the first book you'll have already guessed that what's revealed isn't pretty. Yet somehow that act of them opening up and being vulnerable in front of each other is beautiful. In that one act you see how they fit, how right they are for each other even as battered and bruised as they are. I loved watching them explore each other in a different light as well as sexually. Edward is still an ass even more so in this book but there's another side to him that I loved. I can't wait to see what the future holds for them because I'm sure all of their secrets haven't been revealed as yet. I definitely recommend this book.

I can't get enough of Celia and Edward. I need more or there story. I didn't think I would love this story because of Celia but alot has happened in her life that we didn't know about in her pervious books. It's no excuse but I kinda understand alittle better now.

Celia is a revelation
I believe I said it in my review for Rivalry, but Laurelin Paige is a master storyteller I didn't want to like Celia. I didn't want to sympathize with her. Yet, with Paige's care in unraveling her story, I adore her. The psychology of a character allows you to "see" them, and Paige has masterfully unearthed the essences of both Celia and Edward brilliantly. I can't wait for the next book as the exact their revenge...
