At first I groaned that this just seemed like fan fiction between a singer and a fan and then it became that and so much more. There is no denying that it's the very thing everyone wants to happen with their favourite celebrity but it goes so much deeper. I loved the character development and cheesy cliqued expressions of love between them. The sex scenes were a little too upfront for me though and felt tacky.

Pretty decent book and story. I mostly struggled with Emery and Oliver's actually love and romance. I loved their individual stories and growth but didn't really feel much connection to them falling in love. It felt as though the chemistry was lacking for me.

This story follows Emery and Oliver as they navigate financial hardship and grief. This story is very fast paced and character driven. It is a cute and quick read, but there are two moments mentioned that I felt would be major plot points to never be brought up again.
Specifically a 5 year flashback to where Emery and her sister Sammie meet Alex and Oliver. It doesn’t say their names explicitly, but they throw out baby names to the pregnant sister as Reese is Alex’s middle name and Emery’s daughter is named Reese. And it’s never once talked about. Ever. They even took a photo together and in the end Emery says she wishes she could have met Alex, when she obviously did?

As someone who is very close to my sister, I feel a lot of things in stories when those relationships are front and center. I empathized so hard with Alex and can’t imagine the pain that would come from losing someone so close as a twin. Add in the pain and then healing in Oliver and then Emery and Sammie and you have a beautiful story. There were some really important and beautiful thoughts about mental health and about overcoming trauma in here as well.  Sometimes we do, indeed, need to fall apart to fall back together stronger.
