I was intrigued, but also felt as though everything was a bit drawn out, despite the fact that things moved pretty quickly. Not a lot of the threads connected in my opinion, and where they did it felt forced.

I started this a few days ago because I couldn't decide what to read at the time and it felt nice to get to a book that's been on my TBR for ages. Thank god for Scribd.

So, I enjoyed it and as usual I thought I had a plot line nailed and I didn't. I was actually disgusted by James at the end

Meh, another one of those "entitled privileged men will be doing whatever they want and get away with it" until they don't anymore... expected more, so a bit underwhelmed. The writing was good though, so it made me want to rewatch a bunch of legal tv shows

Unknowingly picked up a book about a compromised MP in the days leading up to the actual PM resigning. Life imitates art or something...?
Anatomy of a Scandal is a solid modern day drama. It invites for a discussion on power and accountability: can these two co-exist? What would it take for a her to prevail in a he-said - she-said situation?
I enjoyed the way the author wrote about the court proceedings and the crime in question. It was straight forward and appropriately harsh. However, I did not appreciate the switching of the viewpoint at the turn of every chapter. Following the story from the perspectives of everyone involved left no room for curiosity as all blanks were filled in sooner than I wonder about them. Also, the character developments are wild. By the end of the novel, all the female characters are essentially the opposites of what they started like. Perhaps too drastic a change to be whole-heartedly believed.

This book kept me engaged, and I really enjoyed the story.
