Probably the best thing I've read coming out from the AXIS storyline.

Took away a star because in order to get the entire story, you'll need to go hunt down an issue of Axis. Boo!

Another great issue of Deadpool! I had an idea we'd see that white robed version of him again - Zenpool was a nice direction to take the Merc with a Mouth.

The last couple volumes of Deadpool have been a little trickier because they tie in to goings-on in the larger Marvel universe - events that I was not familiar with as I began this volume. However, putting aside the wider story and the events that have taken place between volumes, there is still a lot that works here. The concept is cool and the conflict of Deadpool's character continues to be handled effectively. Seriousness and humor fit side-by-side along with all the crazy happenings that are to be expected.

It's been awhile since I read any Axis books. It must have been bad if a Deadpool books seems good. Or maybe it was better than I expected. A flipped Deadpool is an improved Deadpool. And the writing and characters were actually pretty good. But then the backup story just sucked - bad art, bad writing - just dumb. So it kind of averaged out.

First off, the artist for this volume is leagues better than the last. It's nice not to have to deal with uncanny valley children anymore. I also really loved the writing both for Deadpool himself and the supporting cast. I feel like it brought up a lot of interesting talking points and I was emotionally moved by several of the themes. The focus on the fact that Deadpool is someone who does attempt to help the lives of people around him in part because he is incapable of actually finding true and lasting happiness was touching. I also really enjoyed his relationship with Apocalypse. I'm a sucker for morally questionable mentors of children who could grow up to be something terrible.  I also loved the final chapter on fracking. I am giving it an extra start for the fracking. 4 stars.

There's just something about Deadpool graphic novels that are just so easy to follow. He's always so spontaneous and I find you can pick up almost any volume and just read it and know, for the most part, what's going on.

I love Shiklah! More her, all the time. Please and thank you.

Pretty good. It was interesting to see the "good" half of Deadpool.

Very good followup as the art begins to look better and the story unfolds interestingly.
