I'm sort of crossing my fingers that somehow this series will improve and After the Game did. Thank goodness and I'm sure I'll be continuing the series.
Riley Young returns in the small town of Lawton with her parents and daughter, Bryony, so they can take care her grandmother with Alzheimer's disease. Two years, people shamed and threw hurtful words her way when Rhett Lawton raped her. It saddens me these people did not protect nor defend Riley. She's a victim here and these people choose to take Rhett's side. She ends up lonely from having no friends. Her family's support gave her strength to overcome the lowest point of her life. Then one night, Brady Higgens saw her and her daughter soaked in the rain and offers to take them home. She knows he's a good guy but he didn't trust him. Will she change her mind by his efforts and change of heart?
I like Brady. He's sincere, thoughtful and humble. Though he was wrong about Riley in the past, he apologized and tries making up for his mistakes by being her friend. His assurance made her feel at ease and she's thankful for it. Their story was a happy ending and less dramatic than the previous two books.
The only thing I didn't like: The rape issue wasn't fully addressed. Riley may have forgiven Rhett and I like she does not hold grudges. It's good she's optimistic but it's unacceptable for me Rhett wasn't punished for his crime. He raped her and got away with it? Where's the justice in that? It's horrible and bullshit. I'll take away one star for that.

There was so much potential for this book since the premise seemed interesting, and I enjoyed the other books in this series. But, it fell incredibly flat. There wasn't that much conflict between the characters and the plot twists just seemed... not twisty. They were pretty straightforward. For me to enjoy a book, I like the climax to be meaningful, thoughtful, and make a lasting impact but I felt that this climax- both the drama and the resolution- were rushed, predictable and lacked emotion. Sorry, just not the best work by Abbi Glines imo
I didn't hate it but it wasn't my favorite abbi glines book
like the romance was sorta cute but I didn't really like want to know what happened between Brody and the main character I was mostly wanting to read about her life and her interactions with people of course in abbi glines style the writing was addicting and lovely but the plot wasn't really there for me in all honesty

4 out of 5 Stars
After the Game is book 3 in the Field Party Series. I enjoyed After the Game. After the Game was my favorite book in the series. I loved Riley, Bryony and Brady.

I'm obsessed with this series! I can't wait for the next book.
This is the third book in this series. Quick and easy read.
I liked that the other characters from previous books were there. The reason this wasn't a 5 star read for me is the author repeated herself a lot and the relationship progressed rapidly. I'm not a fan of instalove.

I’m so ashamed of myself I’ve really hit rock bottom of the mindless romance world with this one. This is not a good book and I would not recommend it to others, yes I did enjoy it but that is besides the point. My ancestors are rolling in their graves knowing I’m wasting my time on earth with this tosh. Sorry, ancestors.
Maybe more like a 2.75? I enjoyed the story but the writing felt choppy and the characters were kind of meh.
