This… was… precisely what I wanted and needed. Loathing you currently has me in a chokehold!
Amina Khan is a talented writer.
Loathing You is and enemies to lover, rich mean girl, fast-paced romance book. This book reminds me exactly of Mean Girls if Regina George had come out lesbian.
The writing in this book is well done, and the characters are written so that you can understand and feel for them.
Now I’m going to be honest: I love Juliette and Adaline. I love their dynamics. I especially appreciate the fact that Amina didn’t rush to change their dynamics and showed both of the character's confusion to change in feelings.
Also, Juliette’s coming to terms with being a lesbian and how it’s presented with her internalised homophobia was done so correctly because not a lot of other books address the fact that some lgbtq people have internalised homophobia when not coming to terms with sexuality and identity. Juliette’s character couldn’t be written any better.
As for Adaline, her character has been through a lot of trauma, pain and change, and the book shows her as a strong woman who had to adapt, but slowly, she lets her feelings be revealed to none other than her enemy Juliette.
Loathing You does cover some sensitive topics that some readers may struggle to read, but the way it is covered is with clear respect and knowledge, which is something you don’t see a lot of Authors do.
I will continue to rave about this book as it is one of the best books I have read so far this year. So it’s a massive recommendation that more people check and read this fast-paced, dark, enemies to lovers and rich mean girl book.
Trigger warnings:
Lesbophobia, Sexual content, Homophobia, Toxic relationship, and Biphobia, Physical abuse and Death of parent.

I really really wanted to like this book. I think it has interesting ideas, but it definitely needs an editor for grammar and polishing. Some of the grammatical errors and typos were so egregious that it took me out of the story. I think the plot of the story needs to be reworked with an editor or a focus group as well, particularly the ending. I don’t want to spoil it for people, so I’ll just say that the ending felt entirely unrealistic, even compared to the reality of the rest of the book. The last two or three chapters had me reeling, thinking “where the hell did that come from?” It has the makings of a good book, I just think the author needs to grow and learn more and hire someone to be her second pair of eyes on her work.
Girl you literally just copied tryst six venom. Essentially this is stolen content.
People are here quoting it going "oh it's so deep it's so good" and I'm wondering if we read the same thing???
Like this is the same book, but with different character names.
How did you even get away with blatantly copying an entire book bruv? Does Penelope Douglas know about this?
