I’m really glad I discovered this author! Another enjoyable read with a happy ending - something we can all use in this day and age!

This book is an amazingly sweet romance. One former marine with PTSD and a guy from a Hawaii with troubles of his own.
The pair have a cute meet, and slowly build a relationship which ebbs and flows like a tide as they each try to heal from their past.
I love all the characters - well-rounded and developed. The MCs, Wyatt and Kai, are suitably fit. Really tough topics sensitively handled (but there are detailed warzone scenes which contain a trigger warning).
The way the guys try to impress one another is simply charming.
The way they try to support each other is even more wonderful though.
It was fab to read a MM book that was more about the relationship than the hot under cover action. There are just enough detailed bedroom antics to satisfy that side too though.
If you're looking for a MM romance that's beyond just bed action, then this is the book for you!

Such a Beautiful M/M book. I had it on my TBR for quite awhile before I decided to read it. And I'm so glad I finally got to it. This book is a beautiful love story mixed in with how we heal and love those around us when they need us most!

This story deserves better writing! Sorry, but there were so many gaps here, as if sentences were deleted without checking whether the text would then still be sound.
The plot, characters and background are so good. I really liked this story, but I can't get over the jumps in the text. I laughed with the characters and cried a lot, but this bumpy read was unfortunately not enjoyable.
I'm a little sad, I see the potential and I don't think it's the author. He has a wonderful way of storytelling and a beautiful writing style, I think the editor messed up big time here.

Everyone needs healing.
Wyatt and Kai...what a story. This book was heartwrenching, emotional, beautiful, and steamy. Can we say...ALL THE FEELS? Wyatt's a wounded soldier in more ways than one, running from his past that keeps invading his thoughts and dreams. Kai is running as well, blaming himself for something that he feels is his fault. The two meet and it's a growly exchange, but they continue to secretly go out of their way to bump into each other. This tortured souls love story is one that is packed with both emotion and heat. After everything Wyatt and Kai have endured, their HEA is one to root for!

One of the reviewers, Daniela, said it best. Not well executed, cringe worthy at times and the edit work was... not good. I will try another book from the author, but am not hopeful.

Achei muito corrido, pouco tratado os problemas dos personagens, tudo facilmente resolvido e pouco desenvolvimento da relação. Foi tudo muito rápido e sei lá não curti tanto não

💕 I'm a sucker for stories like this one - two broken men, both fraught with guilt, who come together to heal and find love. One struggles to move on from the guilt of coming home from the war when his friend didn’t. Living life day by day without any real joy or light. The other has run away. He has a family that loves him, yet he is unable to let go of his own guilt.
I absolutely love these types of stories. Stories of healing through love. Where one person brings the other to see the light and joy of life. But, to get to the healing, they need to confront the past. These stories are emotional and fraught with feelings of sadness, hope and finally, a happily ever after.
Garry Michael’s characters have depth and show the frailty and beauty of the human spirit. The setting is visually stimulating. I can almost feel the salty sea air that he describes. I can picture this quaint little island as it is so vividly described. I can feel the anxiety coming off our character in waves. The whole thing is beautiful. The ethnic diversity of the characters just leads to an extra bit of homecoming for me, and I couldn't love it more.
