I bought into the hype with this one...a book that has a true crime podcast element? Sold. Except, as a plot device, the podcast aspect seemed to get in the way. It added a bit of extra information about what was happening to Sadie when we weren't with her, but it wasn't enough for me to really like the format; I would've preferred third person omniscient or having to fill in the blanks for myself.

Although the mystery was enough to keep my attention, overall this book felt like the equivalent of a "shrug" response when someone asks if I'd recommend it.

Audiobook. Cool concept of a podcast series about a missing girl while half the book is from POV of said missing girl. I think audio is the only way to go on this.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of Sadie, and it is a book I don't believe I will ever be able to forget. It is emotionally brutal and raw. I feel like I can't say much because it will spoil to story for others who read it, and everyone should read it. I raced through this book in a weekend, compelled to follow Sadie's journey to see if she accomplished her act of vengeance.

The audio book for this is so BEAUTIFUL AND HEARTBREAKING

Listened to the audio book of this an really enjoyed it via that format. It was well paced and absolutely haunting. The story of Sadie and Mattie will stay with me for a long time.

I’m between giving it a 2.5 and 3 stars! It wasn’t a bad read and I got through it in one sitting. I really enjoyed the podcast aspect of it but almost wish they had cut Sadie’s part of the book out because it made it too predictable. Overall, not the worst book I’ve ever read but far from the best. I believe this is categorized as a thriller but it’s really not a thriller in my opinion.

Good YA reading. Sad, inconclusive ending. Changing narrative.

Stereotypical, but I love a true crime podcast moment. Serial, Case Files, you name it. So even though I saw the YA flag, I decided to give it a try. TW for the kids: pedophilia, drugs, abuse.

I loved the fresh twist of this being written in podcast format, jumping between first person narrative and interviewer and interviewee. I typically never read via audiobook, but this is one situation where I would highly recommend audiobook format versus written word.

Sadie is a protagonist you feel protective over, and yet hope she succeeds in her vigilante justice.
