A very enjoyable look at young Sherlock, before his genius status. We travel with him on an adventure that leads to death, danger and pain.

I really liked the audio but overall the storyline really disappointed me. I thought the story could have ended earlier than it did but it kind of dragged out. When the "death cloud" was revealed also with the person that involved with it I was like what that's it. Towards the end I was rolling my eyes because some of the things that were going on were just silly and ridiculous. I did like Sherlock, Matty and Virginia but nothing else really. This was a fun mystery but just kind of let me down overall.

The cover art kind of crack me up because Sherlock kind of looks like Justin Bieber.

I am a massive fan of the Sherlock Holmes books so when I came across this I thought id give this a try and I really enjoyed it as the title suggests Sherlock Holmes is young at the age 14. When his father is sent out to war and his mother becomes ill Sherlock's brother decides to sent him to live with his uncle, his fathers brother over the summer holiday whom has fallen out with his father and his wife seemingly mentally ill. While there some strange things start happening and Sherlock seems to always be there in the mist of trouble so decides to find out what is going on around him.

12-year-old Sherlock is forced to spend his summer break with an aunt and uncle he barely knows. When mysterious deaths start occurring, he and his friends investigate.

Okay, but it didn't grip me nearly as much as the original Sherlock Holmes stories. Not interested in reading the rest of the series, but others may be, I'm just not sure who those people would be.

An interesting and creative look at the famous Sherlock Holmes in his teenage years. The author has deftly included the early glimmers of some of the behavior and psychological quirks that fans of the famous sleuth will recognize.

The mystery itself was a tad over the top and at times Sherlock was able to be involved in things that pushed the window of credibility- not entirely unlike the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle. It felt a tad contrived at the end.

Bit of a Gary Stu story. Young Sherlock is a young kid that goes up against full grown & tough men and wins? Meh. I am disappointed.

I am having a Holmes summer, so jumped at this rendition of what he may have been like as a teen. While still developing his computer-like observation skills and haughty manner, the author introduces us to him at age 14. He does suffer a ridiculous number of beatings which the author obviously has not as Holmes is up and running again in time for tea, but the mystery was entertaining and the friendships well-developed.
