Hermoso, lo amé.
Nunca antes había leído la historia real de Peter Pan, estaba acostumbrada a la historia de Disney, así que creo que necesitaré re-leerlo dentro de poco para comenzar a sentirme más cercana a la historia :)

I wouldn't have expected Peter Pan to be such a prick and the story to include that much shameless murder committed by little children.
Still there are passages with the most beautiful ideas and notions that make me regain understanding as to why Peter Pan is such a popular classic. I'm not really sure about some points in its ethical value, but it was nonetheless a worthwhile read.

finally read an old favorite...... wish it wasn’t racist...... <3

I haven't read Peter Pan in years, so I didn't remember any of it. I thoroughly enjoyed this imaginative adventure. So sweet & loving yet full of thrills. I can clearly hear J.M. Barrie's voice telling the story, rapt children at his feet, hanging on every word. These are the type of make believe adventures children make up all the time, & that adults still secretly wish would come true too. Peter & the Darling children have so much fun, I wish I could fly to Never-Never-Never- Land & play with Peter & Tiger Lily too. The innocent love between Peter & Wendy was so sweet as well. I adored this story!

When I was listening to this, my fascination towards this story came back. I don't remember when I first heard of Peter Pan but it was a magical moment. Now when someone mentions that someone should grow up and stop acting like Peter Pan, it's kind of offensive. I mean, it is bad when someone hurts other people and doesn't recognize their responsibilities, but at the same time I remember Peter Pan and adults who forget how to fly. Does being an adult mean that you have to forget how to live and forget who you really are? Although I never cared for Peter Pan himself, I was more like a Captain Hook girl. The magical stuff and the concept of not wanting to grow up drew me in.

This little classic is simply charming. It’s no wonder that children and adults alike love it, as it handles the story in a way that gives dignity to the child protagonists while also acknowledging how very, well, childish they are.

Barrie explores what it really means to *live* with humor, warmth, and cleverness. A lovely read for the whole family.

(Of course, there are some severely outdated ideas and language about indigenous peoples that is inarguably offensive, and I only say that the book is good aside from that.)

3⭐️ the illustrations in this were so good and I did like the story even though it was a bit too weird at times. Loved the magic but it’s difficult to see past the racism so couldn’t fully enjoy it.
