This was a cute read, a lot deeper than it originally seems. The characters were sweet, and it was a nice grumpy x sunshine story (they had funny banter which I always love!). The obvious miscommunication and whole hiding a secret thing isn’t really my thing because it’s just SO easily solve-able and sometimes Cole’s way of thinking was kinda toxic and honestly Summer REALLY irritated me sometimes (audible sighs and looking away from the page in exasperation), but they worked through it, and I’m glad that development was shown. For the most part, I enjoyed the easy read :)

"Only give me real smiles. If you're sad, frown. If you're mad, scowl."

This book definitely falls under the Grumpy/Sunshine trope. Summer is a librarian and Cole comes into the Library to research every week. Cole is so awkward when he's trying to impress Summer. Poor bloke.

I really disliked that Cole kept his past a secret for so long and the plot with Summer's stalker.

But, overall this was a cute love story.

"Do you want a hug?"
A Cole Allemand hug? Does such a thing even exist? "Are you offering me a hug? You don't seem like a hugger?"
"I'm not."
"Well, I don't want a hug full of lies."
I cross my arms, knowing that I'm being obstinate. But that's what this day does to me.
Cole's mouth twitches. "I'm not a hugger. But I'd like to hug you."

This is a friends to lovers Romance about Summer, a librarian who falls for reformed bad boy turned writer Cole. It’s told in both POV and has that insta-love vibe.

I enjoyed the light plot as I was getting myself out of a reading slump. The character development was fine, Summer has a naivety and people pleasing type personality which might feel annoying for some readers yet I found her qualities endearing. Cole’s ‘bad boy’ persona gives more teenage rebellion/lost puppy vibe than the controlling alpha stereotype that is trending and I enjoyed the change of pace.

The plot line almost wholly focussed on their budding relationship and the ‘mysterious stalker’ theme is only lightly touched on here and there rather than having a constant tense or suspenseful feeling that builds through out the book. I think I would have given more stars if the plot remained focused on fleshing out their relationship and greater development of the minor characters. It could have done without this theme altogether.
I recommend this to those who enjoy a light paced romance with some medium spice to it!

This one has me hella confused. Like was it good? No. But was bad? Also no? As soon as I read it was about a librarian heroine, I was like I gotta read it. And the library part is pretty accurate considering the other librarian books I’ve read lol and we had a light haired hero? Don’t see that too often. And the romance was actually nice and believable, but Summer was kinda annoying at times? Cole is giving her all the signs he is fully into her and sees long term plans for them. And Summer is like “Does he seem me as a fling or more? I don’t know if he likes me?” And the stalker part wasn’t as big of the plot line as I thought it would be. It’s a solid-ish read, enjoyable but not ground breaking.
