Witty and funny. It made me feel better about my journey through motherhood. I was mostly put together before motherhood but being a working mom a lot of things went out the window!
funny
lighthearted

Read it as soon as it came (amazon pre-order) and, I don't know. I've been stewing in it. There are definitely things here for a lot of people to identify with, but I didn't find that many. There were a lot of potentially cringe inducing situations that were blessedly, if not expertly, handled off screen. The husband was a nightmare scenario and that wasn't satisfactorily fully resolved. The MIL was a semi nightmare scenario, not fully resolved. The protagonist was, at the risk of sounding like I'm minimizing postpartum depression, a nightmare scenario. Look, I get it. It's dark times, long and lonely days. And I like Bunmi Laditan and appreciate her honesty and vulnerability on facebook. But I didn't find a ton to identify with or enjoy here.
I love Bunmi's posts. I was very disappointed when I realized that this was a novel and not a collection of her writing. Oops! I skipped 300 pages and had no problem picking up the plot. That says a lot.
This was cute and refreshing. It was actually what I was hoping Bridget Jone's Baby/Mad About the Boy would be like. Nicely done.
Entertaining and quick read. Was not the laugh out loud hilarious I had hoped for as advertised on the cover. A better description would have been ‘mildly humorous if you’ve had kids, if not forget it, you won’t understand.’
I do think there was a lot of truth to Ashley’s struggle as a new mom and new parents may find that comforting while being entertained by her attempts to be a picture perfect mom.

Cute and amusing, though entirely predictable. This could be a comforting read for a struggling new mom, but humor-wise Laditan's Honest Toddler social media posts pack a much better punch.
OK. I’ve been really lazy with actually leaving reviews and just putting some random star rating but I forget what books are about when I go back and look at my list from years ago.
I will always post I have spoilers whether I do or not because everyone’s idea of a spoiler is completely different.

This was a cute quick read. I chuckled at just how relatable it was to hear all about the perfect lives portrayed by many on social media when the main character seemed to be the only one struggling. The perfect happy life is not always what do you think it is... and realizing it before it’s too late can’t be the best reward.

Ugh. I don’t think I realized this book was fiction for quite a while; the “Michelle”s and other similar name drops a way to name drop without trademarking. BUT, I spent a good portion thinking “Surely this is fiction. Surely there isn’t a mom this dumb? Surely no one is this stupid.” Thankfully, I was right. If you are this mom, PLEASE! Get help! You don’t have to be like Emily, but please, for the love of all that is, please, please don’t be Ashley! Ugh.
