3.5 AVERAGE

Loved the first book in this series however each book seems to get progressively worse

I've read all these books and normally I can't stand this genre, but honestly they are really cute and funny. A nice light, humorous book for when you just want entertainment!

A quick one day read that captured my attention in the first chapter. Will likely continue on in the series.

every bit as enjoyable as the first time i read it although rebecca’s spending habits did stress me out a bit.

At first I had a hard time getting into the book, because I was just so annoyed at the main character's lieing and ridiculous and irresponsible decisions...it was almost stressing me out! However, it was an easy and eventually entertaining read, and I don't regret spending my time on it.

I'm done with this bloody book finally! Rebecca Bloomwood is probably the most annoying character I have ever read. She's a total ditz (but not a complete idiot) with a lack of self-control. I suppose her shopping addiction didn't bother me as much as she kept getting herself into all of these different messes without considering the consequences. I wanted to take my book and smack her over the head repeatedly.

The book was also slow-moving at times with a lack of action and a lot of exploration into Rebecca's thoughts and feelings, which made for a boring book. The last 80 pages picked up and the resolved nicely, which is the only reason why I gave this book two stars instead of one. I think the book could have fared better had 100 pages of the middle been cut out.

I suppose I'm a harsh critic of this because I failed to realize the Shopaholic series is considered chick lit, and knowing myself, I probably wouldn't have picked it up had I known that. But I know the Shopaholic series is popular (and I am a former shopaholic myself) so I decided to give it a try.

I'm done with the Shopaholic series though. Mainly because I can't stand the main character and don't find her attributes endearing at all.

3.5 stars. This is one of the few times where I liked the movie more. The film departs pretty significantly, which is a good thing... in the film Becky (Isla Fisher) is immature and shallow, but she's also "cute" --- sweet and witty with enough heart that you root for her to grow up.

In the novel, Becky isn't likable. She's petty, shallow, and bratty. (So so bratty!) By the time she turns into a decent person you're over her.

That said, it did keep me entertained on a long flight. I don't think I could have "read" the book (too fluffy) but the narrators accent ad performance kept me going.

hi rhian

I heard this book was much better than the movie, and I didn't really like the movie. I got about a hundred pages into it and didn't see much different. I knew there was a love stroy blooming somewhere in the book, so I ended up just skimming the rest of the book, reading only the pages where I saw the one guy's name mentioned. I say: If you haven't seen the movie, then read this. If you have seen the movie, then don't read this.
