I have been a fan of McFLY since the beginning so I was so excited when they said they were going to write a book. It was amazing getting to know my favourite band better. I never knew they had so many down moments and I'm just so happy they managed to pull through. This is a must read for all McFLY fans.

A really interesting read that made me nostalgic for the old days of McFly. It works really well to have them all contributing small sections to each chapter. I had trouble sometimes hearing the individual voices but there was nothing that could be done about that. That was my issue. Although some chapters were a hard read overall the book was brilliant and I zoomed through it.
Though I didn't think it possible, this book actually made me fall deeper in love with McFly. Their complete and utter honesty is endearing and I can only hope for another installment in the next 10 years (or sooner).

I've been a fan of McFly for a few years, but sadly didn't have the braincells to follow them properly when they first launched as a band and released the music which is discussed in Unsaid Things. As a result, this book taught me loads about the band which I didn't know before, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the background of McFly from the perspective of its four members.
I was impressed by the general angle the boys took in this overview of their early lives and band experience. They go through things in a relatively straightforward, chronological order, but there was actually less focus on the music they produced than I anticipated. I saw this as a good thing because things like what tracks are about and how they put together their albums is information already in the public domain and no doubt already spoken about in depth when the albums were released; readers don't necessarily need to be told all of this again. Instead, I felt we were really given a behind-the-scenes insight into their lives and what went on in the moments between physical song-writing or performing.
I was also pleased to see that the band seemed open and honest in their commentary and reflections on their past. Rarely did they become defensive about mistakes or difficult periods - they took responsibility and just told things as they were, simply presenting their emotions at the time and the way they view things in retrospect.
Similarly, it was nice to be able to recognise clear growth in each member over the years they recount. There is a very overt sense of maturity which becomes more and more apparent as time moves on and you can see how they have aged and learnt from what they have been through.
I've docked a star because I'm a bit unsure about how the band spoke about certain figures - some famous, some not - who played a part in their lives. At times their commentary felt a bit disrespectful, and unnecessarily so. But again, I appreciate their honesty at least, and nothing was said was too damaging.
All in all a very strong biography which ran through the band's beginnings and busiest periods. I truly had lots of fun reading and it has really put me in the mood for more celeb bios now!

It's awesome to read about four guys who you've admired for so long. And it's amazing to be let into their world for the first time. It makes you respect them that much more and understand more about them. They've had their demons, they've had their very low points, and it's inspiring to see how they are at the end of it. I just love them so much.
As I have been a massive fan of McFly for pretty much my entire life I LOVED this book!
I initially only planned to read a few chapters before bed but ended up finishing the whole book in one sitting. It opened me up to a lot of things I hadn't previously known about the band members and took me on a roller coaster journey.
If you're a fan of McFly this is an absolute must read!

I've loved McFly ever since I saw them at a Busted concert those many years ago in 2004 and after 9 years of being together they still hadn't released an official autobiography so this book was highly anticipated by all McFly fans and it definitely delivered. Bands like One Direction are releasing books like this after a year of being together and they're full with pictures and words but this book was filled with emotions, humour and dedication and I'm so very glad that they waited all these years to release their story.
Unsaid Things has all of the members of McFly having their say in this book, we see things that from all of their perspectives and we read through all of their voices. It is so evident that the amount of thought and devotion they put into this story was tremendous, I can just imagine them sitting around table telling each other these stories we read about.
I loved reading Dougie's and Tom's stories, it was so incredibly brave to put down what they had been through in a book when the only information about it were speculations in press those many years ago. Each band member tells the story of what life was like for them before McFly and what McFly and the friendship they had meant to them.
Who knew they were so rebellious when the band first started out?
“The penny dropped. I sat in my room and burst into tears. Our band had barely begun, and already our drummer and bass player were a couple of drug fiends!”
This book is a must read for any McFly fan. It is full of humour, love and emotion and will make you laugh, cringe, tear up and squeal with excitement. The book is actually really well written and tells an actual story and journey.

As a massive fan of McFLY this book didn't fail to please. Be prepared to laugh and to cry. You are taken on a journey through the ups and downs of how the band began to years to come. Well worth the money and the read. I couldn't put it down!
