I had this book on hold from my library (Libby) for a long time. I kept suspending the hold and generally feeling like I should give this second in series a shot because it was about pirates and Lizzie seemed like she would be a really interesting protagonist and I wanted to get more Sapphic romance exposure. But no matter how long I waited, my interest didn't build. I finally got it out, started it, and no matter how hard I tried to focus on the intro exposition, couldn't make myself interested.
This is me trying too hard. For now, I have so many other books that I am more excited to read and I'm going to focus on those.

I am convinced that no one writes fantasy spice like Katee Robert! She is a master at this genre (sub genre? I don't even know), and she gives us bangers every single time!
This a continuation of sorts from book 1, although we are following different characters this time around. They would be the vampire ex from book 1 and a selkie. Lizzie and Maeve.
I don't know if I loved this one as much as the first, but I still had a great time reading it. FF, pirates, vampires, selkies, and all other sorts of magical beings just made it a good time all around. Will absolutely be continuing the series when I have the time!
