I devoured this book in one day and wept when I finished it. I felt completely transported into this world and grew to love these characters so deeply. I think this is an absolute masterpiece by TJR and I highly recommend it.

This book blew me away! I was hooked so fast by Joan and how she views the world and the stars. TJR has such a beautiful way of writing characters, families, and a specific career that all weave together perfectly. Many tears were shed throughout this one.
As I said I was so intrigued by Joan and I loved her character. I loved her quiet determination to succeed mixed with her ability to care for all the people around her. Her relationships with Frances and Vanessa were heartwarming and heart wrenching.
The love story in this was beautiful. This book depicts how hard it was being lesbian in the 80’s and it’s sad how much it can still be relevant in someways today.
Found family and blood related family are also written so well in this.
I found myself in tears so many times for Frances, the neglect from her mother and then the love from her aunt were at such odds but I’m so glad with how things worked out.

Taylor Jenkins Reid is rapidly becoming an author whose books I pick up upon release, without hesitation. This one may actually be her best yet. Despite a little hestitation because I have no interest in space travel, NASA or astronauts, I became immediately invested because the focus is much more on the characters and their dynamics with each other. I especially loved the depiction of Joan's relationship with her niece and how it impacted all her other relationships, and the last couple of chapters left me reeling. If "love stories" aren't your thing, please do not be dissuaded by the phrase "a love story" on the cover, because this book is so much more than that.

LET’S GO LESBIANS!

This book was so corny but I ate it up. I feel gayer. Happy pride month!

Extremely lovable MC and lots of side characters to root for. Space is cool. Lesbians are cool. Women are cool. This book is cool

There’s definitely a lot of NASA jargon that was hard to understand but this was a love story, so it wasn’t hard to get past that obstacle. But like every other TJR book out there, this was absolutely beautiful. The emotions were being FELT. The love was being LOVED. The intensity no matter what the subject was always sucked you in. At the very end of the book, I felt tears in my eyes. How beautiful and how unforgettable. Well done TJR once again!!
