This book had such an interesting premise, but it unfortunately fell short for me. I was extremely bored for probably over 50% of this book. I’m glad that she ended up with who she ended up with, but we got such a small picture into that romance. This author’s writing style really reminded me of Katherine Center’s, whose books have also fallen short for me. I think you might enjoy this book if you like her books, but just know if you read this, you are mostly reading about a woman struggling with grief, not romance. Personally, just not my cup of tea

This book is not what i thought it would be like , i was afraid it would be cheesy and predictable in a boring way. But, honnestly i love the story. review coming soon !
This book is about "grief ", we witness the journey of lydia into getting over the death of her fiancee "freddie" , he died the night of her birthday. I normally don't like when abnormal stufff happens in a realistic kind of story , but it was understandable in this one , i'm not gonna say it was my favorite part ,because i got fed up with it at some point , but it was necessary for the story's sake. Lydia was prescribed some pink pills to help her sleep , because she wasn't able to after the tragedy, so she used them , and she found hersel in a parallel universe, in which her beloved freddie was still alive . So when she sleeps she's in that world ,and when she's awake she's in the real world with freddie gone.
The intresting part is that she couldn't let go of freddie ,she couldn't heal because she was still attached to that parallele universe in which she was living a normal life and planning her wedding .
It was really emotionnal , because it made you feel the hurt she was feeling , the pain of losing someone so dear to your heart ,and having the chance to see them again and again every time you sleep isn't one you wouldn't choose . So i guess this book puts you in a grieving test if that exists

The grief aspect seems to have been researched really well but Lydia’s ability to live in a drug induced world is worrying and takes over the majority of the narrative. For me the story with Jonah could have been so much better developed but felt like a rushed ending to keep the reader happy. It was both too long and too short in parts.

I really enjoyed her first book, this one not so much. I wasn’t expecting a multiverse/sliding doors/parallel universe all with a magic pink pill. I loved her relationship with her sister, but I kept thinking the book was wrapping up only to realize I still had 7, 5,3,2,1 hour(s) left. The last 25 minutes was the Q&A with the author. I did like the ending, but it felt it was rushed compared to the rest of the story!

I'm not sure what I was expecting from this book. Whatever it was, I wasn't what I ended up getting.
I don't think it's a perfect book. At all.
And I confess, the main character bothered me a lot in the beginning. I all honesty, I wasn't feeling her pain. All I got was self loathing - and I really do hate that. Somehow throughout the novel I got to feel more empathetic toward her and even understand some of her choices.
I would classify this as a holiday read as I didn't feel this was a heavy book at all given the topic.
It's an entertaining book and has a lot of good things about it.
