Allie is nursing a broken heart after she ended things with her long term boyfriend. When her ex says he wants to talk to her, Allie panics and decides to stay at her best friend's boyfriend's place so she can avoid seeing him.

But when she shows up at the house, she finds herself alone with Dean. She's heard all about his reputation as the manwhore of the team and being with over half the girls in their university, and she is not interested. But she isn't blind and can't deny that he's hot and charming. One thing leads to another and they end up sleeping together.

The life of Dean is sweet and perfect. He gets what he wants, when he wants it. He's know how to score both on and off the ice. Until Allie. When his one night stand with Allie turns into one of the most mindblowing experiences he's had, he wants more but Allie turns him down and tells him to forget the whole thing and stay friends.

He tries to but is unable to get her out of his mind. Now he'll just have to convince her to give him another go.

Review:
4.5/5⭐️
On the surface it might look like Dean is the guy who is used to getting his way and only thinks about sex. But his character is soo much more than that. He doesn't use his family name to get to the top and yes his family is filthy rich but he isn't an ass about it. He works hard. He's smart, kind, funny, cares about his teammates, friends, family and Allie. And yes, he loves sex.

He's very honest about what he thinks and what he wants and doesn't play around.

Dean was effortlessly funny and some of the scenes made me laugh sooo hard. Especially that scene with Logan and Winston.

Allie was a fun character and I could relate to her in a lot of ways. How it's easy to keep going back to a relationship cause you've given so much of your time and effort to that relationship. But she always stood by her decisions and didn't give in to her ex and she didn't give in to Dean immediately either.

Her moments with Dean were really great. Going from a one night stand to friends to lovers. I like how she wasn't shy to ask for what she wanted. And their relationship slowly turned into something more without either of them wanting it to initially. Also, the spice was on another level.

This book definitely was more emotional compared to the rest of the series so far. I WAS NOT EXPECTING WHAT HAPPENED TO HAPPEN. I know something had to happen to test their relationship and make it stronger but I'm genuinely not over what happened. It broke my heart into a million pieces.

This book seriously messed with me feeling and my heart. Allie and Dean first meet when Garrett offers to let Allie stay at his house so she doesn’t have to deal with her crazy ex-boyfriend. At first Dean wasn’t happy about having to deal with a emotional girl in his house but then they get high together. Allie doesn’t like she slept with him because she told herself that she would’t slept with Dean because of his reputation. She tells Dean its not happening again but Dean can’t seem to get Allie out of his head and is convince that if he sleeps with one of time then she will be out of his system. They end up both developing feeling for each other. Their relationship is really tested during this book. This book gets 5 out of 5 stars

Okay, I officially get the Elle Kennedy love now. I liked her a lot before, but was holding onto my initial trepidation from The Deal… But that’s over now! I’m honestly probably going to reread it to see if I think it’s better the second time around.
Because this? Loved this. I love when a playboy falls in love. I loved Dean. I loved Allie. I loved the sex. I even loved the third act break-up! Ms. Kennedy is the queen of the third act break-up because I usually hate them, but most of hers actually make sense and I think this one was done really well. Also? This book even made me cry. And that ending??? We are truly getting into the real world now! I can’t wait for Tucker’s love story😍
Mini rant:
I HATE adults who are dicks to kids. I know Dean isn’t a kid in this book, but he may as well have been and he WAS a kid when his COACH PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE. That is UNACCEPTABLE behavior and I wish there had been some sort of comeuppance for him because I truly hate adults like that and why should I have to read about them in a book if they’re not going to be unrealistically punished? Have Dean ask if O’Shea ordered the drug test. Have Dean say “I know I’m getting cut from the team. But you should know that he punched me in the face when I was in high school.” Have his coach not be aware of that! Have O’Shea get fired in disgrace! I just read too many books where an adult on a power trip gets away with it and I hate it.

I'm teetering between 3 and 4 stars so I may change my rating since Goodreads doesn't offer half stars.

This book was fun. I liked Dean & Allie's chemistry from the start. It was surprisingly smutty. But it just didn't hold my interest and at times, I had to force myself to get through it. The reason I'm teetering on 4 stars is because I think a good bit of that is the fact that I'm in a reading slump, which is no fault of this book or the author.

Edit: Increased rating to 4/5

Dean and Dakota. OMG!! Men with kids is absolutely heart melting!!

The excessive amount of sex scenes, sex talk, teasing was just TOO MUCH MAN
