I have not read this whole book, but I can't imagine having any reason to do so. This book comes with an online test and after you receive your results you can read about your five strengths in the book. There are 34 areas that you can receive as strengths. Except for my friend who is picking his based on reading them rather than from the test, I think most people just read their own strengths.
I took this several years ago as a work project and my strengths this time were slightly different. The one consistent area is input which I know is something that runs my life. I always want more data, more information, more to think about. So from my perspective the test seems accurate.
I am not sure that I can recommend this book to any particular group of people. I suspect most people read this because of work or because they are evaluating their present job. I did the test as part of my vocation study group.

I'm interested to see the applications of this for ministry. I think they are many.
Sort of a difficult book to rate, therefore I will leave my review short and sweet.
I was interested in learning more about the strengths finder test after reading Reading People and was able to pick this up for a dollar at a used book store. That meant the test code had already been used, but I think just by knowing yourself and reading the descriptions, you can accurately pick out which ones fit you best with no trouble at all. While most of the descriptions were easy to grasp, the wording wasn't always the most clear at times. Also, I pretty much only found the initial description useful and skipped over all the people examples, which seemed unnecessary.
But yeah, if you are looking to get to know yourself a little better, pick it up. It's worth your time.

This book should not be read as a standalone, it's a reference for the Strengths Finder assessment, which takes a little poking around online to find, but as of mid-2016 it's about $15. If you're interested in the book, skip the book and just take the assessment.
I liked that it focused on building your strengths rather than overcoming your weaknesses. The downside is that half the book is about specific strengths which may or may not apply to you.
What a joke.
I have to spend MORE money to find my weaknesses so that I could build those up.
Don't waste your money
