Thank you so much to BookSirens for sending me an advanced copy of Seeds of Sorrow.

I am so incredibly in love with Seeds of Sorrow. I really love Elle Beaumont but had never read anything by Christis Christie, so I had high hopes. And they exceeded them!

The book is a Persephone and Hades retelling, something else I just adore! I usually like them all but this book went above and beyond with the storytelling, the characters and the relationship,

I immediately fell in love with Eden and Draven. I am so invested in their romance and while there seemed to be a tiny bit of insta-love after the slowburn (which sounds a bit odd, but I hope you understand). But there was so much chemistry there I'll understand.

Oh! And Draven isn't just the perfect Hades. He's the perfect vampire.

This book had to be five stars. If I could give it a million I would!

I cannot wait to read more from this world!!!

Let me first warn you that this book is a slow start. It took me a few chapters for it to capture me, but when it did I couldn’t put it down. That said, if you enjoy retellings of Greek mythology you’ll enjoy this book. However, if you have no knowledge of the story of Persephone and Hades that’s ok as well. These characters can stand on their own. Vampires, werewolves and all sorts of other creatures are in this retelling. It was an enjoyable read.

Fans of ACOTAR and Zodiac Academy will love this book! It is a spicy Hades and Persephone retelling that takes place in a world of fae and creatures. The chemistry between the two main characters, Eden and Draven, sizzle and I couldn’t sleep until I knew how their story ends. Looking forward to seeing #2 in the series and more from these authors!

Thanks to Booksirens and publishers for this eARC of Seeds of Sorrow.

Seeds of Sorrow is a Hades and Persephone retelling.
Eden has been sheltered and longs for freedom and adventure. Draven is the King who is feared among humans for having a ruthless reputation.
A meeting and unfortunate connection throws Draven and Eden together.
The adventures that Eden wants suddenly becomes real and she begins to realize that not everything she knows about him and his world is true.
I loved Eden and Draven. They are so different, yet they fit together so well. I like how much Eden grows over the course of the story, from shy and timid to empowered and confident. Draven is a super swoony character, though morally questionable. There’s so much chemistry between Eden and Draven, the way their love story progresses from a forced marriage to a deep, loving, and passionate romance is a fantastic outcome.
The world that the authors create is intriguing and fascinating, the descriptions transport you there and really builds up the story, immersing the reader further into the pages.
This is a great story for readers who enjoy paranormal romance or Hades and Persephone retellings. It’s immersive and unique, and the love story is fantastic!

I received this book as an E-Arc in return for a honest review. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.
When I saw this was a Hades x Persephone retelling, I was immediately interested. I LOVE Hades x Persephone stories. This retelling however, had a fae/vampire twist! It was written in 3rd person, which I'm not too fond of but I guess that's just personal preference. There were a lot of mythical creatures in this one: fae, vampires, goblins, werewolves and so much more. It was a little bit overwhelming in my opinion, and the fae didn't really feel like fae to me (just like normal humans tbh). The world building was okay, the plot was somewhat predictable but still really enjoyable. It's got enemies to lovers, the slowburn and forced proximity. All of my favourite tropes! Overall the romance was cute, and it stayed true to the hades x persephone myth but with a creative twist that I hadn't seen before!

I really wanted to love this book. I am a huge fan of grumpy characters who are thrust into love. But I couldn't get past the main character. She just seemed so naive and ungrateful all of the time.

I think as long as you don't mind that this does have two characters who come together to overcome the horrible situation others have thrust upon them.

"Wit is certainly a sharp tool, but there is nothing wrong with learning how to defend yourself. Wit and defense have a place together."

I didn't know this one was a retelling, but as soon as you read it, it wasn't hard to guess this one is a Hades and Persephone retelling.

The world building is fascinating to know, about how people or animals change physically as they spend more time in the Draven's realm.
The dual POVs from our main character, Draven and Eden also provide better insight to get to know them better.

Draven is the vampire version of Hades, everyone knows him as the ruthless king, a monster who rules the dark realm which is the complete opposite of Eden, who is cheerful and full of life like a ray of sunshine.
I love the enemies to lovers relationship progress between the two of them, although I think the development on Eden's character from an innocent girl to a badass woman was slightly too fast.

However, the pacing was a bit slow since the conflict didn't show up until in the middle of the book. I think this book serves as an introduction book to get to know the characters, the relationships and how the world works.

The book ended in with a cliffhanger and leaves you with quite a few unanswered questions. I'm hoping the sequel will provide more answers about the people who is trying to cause a disturbance in the three realms.

Overall, this is an interesting light reading that I'm sure paranormal fantasy romance readers would love. This is quite an enjoyable read for me and I'm curious to know what happen next so I'll be looking forward for the sequel in this series.
