I enjoyed this much more than Carve the Mark.

It took some real memory skills for me to recall what happened in the first book and who everybody was. But once I got into the swing of things it was enjoyable.

Summary: As Lazmet ignites a barbaric war, Cyra and Akos are desperate to stop him at any cost. For Cyra, that could mean taking the life of the man who may--or may not--be her father. For Akos, it could mean giving his

Pretty well done sequel/series. Story moves (with twists! ) And interesting character studies.

Definitely not as good as the first book. There was too much political stuff going on that I didn't really care for. I didn't like Isae, and therefor found Cisi's parts mostly boring.

But I still adore Akos, and thought the big twist in the middle was fantastic.

Yay for duologies!

The plot twist. I didn't expect it, though I should have. This book kept me even more invested than the first one. I couldn't stop reading.

I was super excited to read this book and I was disappointed. The fact that it was set in a different setting made me select the duology and honestly I loved and enjoyed the first book. I even rated Carve the Mark with 5 stars!

The Fates Divided was a very slow read. There were times I felt like stop reading and pick another book. The storyline was complicated. It takes time and thinking to realize what is actually happening. Too many personal stories were narrated which made the story less interesting and more complex.

I hated reading the parts where Cisi and Isae were involved. May be personally I never liked such numb characters. Eijeh wasn't pleasant as well. Sifa was being very official leaving aside her duties towards her family starting from abandoning her family in a very very crucial point. Except for Akos, Cyra, Teka and Akos's rescue team, the other characters didn't have much involvement in the story. Though they had important roles to play throughout the story, I felt like those characters stood numb towards feelings. Most of the characters were lethargic I'd say.

The book got a little interesting after they learnt their actual fates and identities. The end was a happy one. But still I felt lazy while reading the last part too. Not up to the expectations. Being a fan of Roth, and a lover of The Divergent Series I'm not satisfied with the way this duology ended.

Love the world. The characters and intrigue are good but a little predictable.

All in all, a good book but not one I would want to read again.
