I've read every book in the series and the last 15 or so have been lackluster. But this one....WOW! JD Robb has recreated the formula that made me fall in love with the series in the first place. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the book was longer than it needed to be. The last 100 pages or so dragged on and on. Still worth the read!
Another great Eve story
Man cults are crazy!!! I did like how the one out of place murder led to the craziness lol very good

I always enjoy a JD Robb/Nora Robert’s story. I know she gets a lot of flack for being prolific but the stories are fun and a nice way to escape. This one move quickly and had some good interactions with various characters. I can see the character growth in both Eve and Roarke which is refreshing.
The new JD Robb book has everything: infidelity. Lesbians. Religious cults. Mavis getting cooler and cooler even as she becomes more domestic. The return of Roarke's Very Irish Accent, which has fluctuated a bit throughout the series but is back and stronger than ever.
Let's face it: if you're a series fan, you're going to read this. It's enjoyable. All of the main characters are in top form, the villain is spooky, and there are several terrible people that we somehow emphasize with even though they're the worst. My one wish for the next installment is a return to smaller cases. As fun as it is to watch Dallas take down a huge cult, I miss the days when everyone on the force didn't get involved with every case. Can I get a good pervert Santa, please?

I saved this book so I could read it without interruptions! I am such an Eve Dallas fan. It is endearing how the characters have grown and yet somethings still stay the same. Though the writing is barely dry on the reports from their precious case, Eve is pulled into a new murder. At first glance it looks like it might be an easy case, but as they follow leads, Peabody and Eve find the case has ties to an ultra religious organization and that's when the case gets interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment of the InDeath series!
Even though they are fictional characters, I'm still so very pissed and disgusted by the cultists.
The seemingly open and shut case of an artist found beaten to death in her studio, a secret lesbian affair and alibis which are thrown aside start to reveal the foundations of a cult stuck in the stone ages.
Every book I'm amazed this series is still going, 52! The thing is JD Robb knows what we're here for and damn it if this wasn't the justice boner easy read that I was hoping for.
Slightly more incredible is the 24hr timeline that has Dallas closing up paperwork from the international serial killer case from #51 in the morning to taking down a major cult the next.

This was one of the best in a while in this series. I ended up staying up late to finish it!
Definitely one of my favourite In Death novels! I do love me a good cult plotline.
