Lisa Unger’s Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six is an original “locked room” mystery with a unique twist! Truthfully, I wasn’t a fan of where the novel was going halfway through the book as the whole DNA angle isn’t something I normally care for. However, when it was revealed HOW it fits into the story, I suddenly became even more immersed in the book. What starts off at a slower pace soon turns into a sinister and faster paced novel with unexpected surprises. I loved the reveal, I enjoyed the characters even though a few were very unlikable and enjoyed how everything was wrapped up. This is the perfect suspense novel for those who like a “claustrophobic” feel to their books (the characters are essentially stranded during a hurricane).
I also want to take a second to mention the amazing cover! It’s not only PERFECT for the story but it’s downright gorgeous! Had I not been a fan of the authors work in the past I would have picked this one up solely based on the cover!

This was a very complicated, interesting, twist-filled thriller! There were too many POVs for me and they got very confusing to understand up until the very end. However, once it made sense, it all came together!

oof. family is complicated!
Not what I expected based on the title. Title and cover gives “rustic closed door mystery” vibes but this wasn’t that. It was still intriguing and unique and I remotes the web Unger wove. I don’t think it is has staying power for me though, nothing I’ll reread. I kinda wish Cat had been the main character rather than Hannah… that would’ve been an amazing story.
