Stargazing is a super fun story about friendship and growth. I appreciated Moon and Christine's friendship developing so naturally, it made the story more relatable. I loved the full range of Christine emotions during Moon's illness and the love that she showed her friend at the end of the story.
I enjoyed how many of the events are pulled right from the author's childhood and how reflective writing the story was for her. Great read for middle school students!

Very sweet story about friendship and hardship.

A fantastic and un-put-downable one-shot story with a wonderfully satisfying conclusion. This is just the right balance of school melodrama, friendship and music resolving the main characters' troubles, and real-world issues without coming across as either too preachy or too sweet. Get this for your Youth libraries, or for the nearest young person you care about.

A sweet, compelling story exploring the ties between family, friends, and oneself. Loved the emphasis on being true to yourself and embracing who you are, even if that makes you stand out or is different from what people expect you to be.

The artwork is stunning. The characters are adorable. And the story is memorable. Another hit from Jen Wang. It was also interesting to see how Wang tied in her own childhood experiences to the story. A wonderful book about the impact of true friendship and being there for each other when you need it the most.

Christine and Moon are complete opposites, but when their lives collide they become friends. Soon, though, Christine wonders if all the kids like new kid Moon better than her. This is a poignant, funny friendship story perfect for fans of Raina Telgemeier or Shannon Hale's graphic novels. There is such great character development in this book and it's pitch perfect in terms of that uncertainty that surrounds middle grade friendship. Loved. It.

JEN WANG DOES IT AGAIN. PLEASE PRE-ORDER THIS COMIC- YOU NEED IT IN YOUR LIFE OMG

How can I fully explain how gorgeous, heartwarming, and excellent this is? I adored how Jen conveyed movement, especially the dance sequences. And Moon’s visions with her eyes wide...it’s eerie enough to be curious and think something is going on, but just subtle enough to ignore. The details are unbelievable.

There is no internal dialogue, yet we know exactly how everyone feels just by glancing at their faces and body language. Each character is so unique and the emotions scream from the page!! This story is based on real events from Jen’s childhood so it makes the reading experience more personal. She brings so much warmth and charm that made me feel so protective of the characters- especially Moon! 💗

Just wow. I’ll remember this forever.

I picked this ARC up at the ALA annual conference so it’s in black and white. I’m absolutely ordering it so I can experience the story in color. I have no doubt it will blow my mind.

The author and friend in the story both had childhood medical issues that this book deals with really nicely.
