A very easy read which can be summarized in a simple phrase: breathing is good for life. Sure, the style and quality of breathing will have different effects on the body and mind, but these things have been known for millennia. My beef with this book is that it provides either anecdotal or pseudoscientific support for the more outlandish claims of how breathing can help heal or cure serious medical conditions. I believe wholeheartedly that breathing can help one relax in times of stress, and practicing controlled breathing techniques regularly will probably lead to a more satisfactory emotional well-being. But I do not think that it could rid a body of an E. coli infection! To sum up: a good book to learn breathing techniques perhaps, but take the purported extreme benefits with a grain of salt.

More like 3.5 but a 3 feels very harsh. Interesting stuff to think through but could do without some of the content/there are worldview differences that I hold with the author and therefore some of the conclusions. Overall, an interesting listen.

Definitely interesting. Nice touch to add the breathing techniques in the end, works especially well for an audiobook.

Great book. I’ve made actual changes to my breathing and plan to incorporate more into my practices.
