informative reflective medium-paced

A fascinating and crisply told narrative presenting the surprising lost art of breath and how it can change our life and health if applied in the right ways.
challenging relaxing medium-paced

Informative, made me think more, found it a slog to get through at points despite being objectively well constructed and I hate being lead to believe that incels can be right about anything

Very informative,  topics we should be taught as children,  sadly we are not.

Yes, it will make you want to change the way you breathe. That much I’ll give it. But.
The structure is built almost exclusively on anecdotes and cliffhangers. It is very frustrating; you rarely get any payoff from finishing a paragraph or part. They are all cut off by yet another anecdote, ending in yet another cliffhanger. The few times some conclusion or actual substance is given, it is usually one you had already kind of understood from the very beginning of the chapter. It took me half a year to finish this book because reading it was just never quite rewarding.
I wish Nestor had just trusted his material - it is interesting enough in itself without cliffhangers or sensationalism.

You wouldn't think a book about breathing would be very interesting, but this book was (for the most part) engrossing. A few parts are science-y, but overall the book was engaging with lots of personal anecdotes. I learned so much from this book. I've been breathing wrong all these years! I'm trying to incorporate what I've learned into my life. Don't read this unless you're open to looking at how you do the most fundamental thing--breathing--and how you can do it better.

Would definitely recommend if you’re interested in this topic
