I wish there was more interaction with previous characters. It appears once the person is mated they are only mentioned in the book. I hope in future books in the series that there is more interaction with previous characters instead of just introducing the next characters.

This book follows Luca and Samantha. Luca is a cold, honorable, strong vampire who is determined to never fall in love. Samantha is a recently turned witch who has a surprising ability to bounce back when beaten down.

Again, the author doesn't disappoint. Luca's Magic Embrace, though the title sounds like something off a children's book, keeps you engaged the whole way. Samantha is stubborn and a little in denial, but she's surprisingly strong. She's an average woman dumped into a nightmare situation. She just wants her life back. She feels real. Luca, like Samantha, is completely in denial, albeit of something entirely different.

The tone of this book is different than Kade's Dark Embrace and there isn't the same attitude. Still, the mystery and the adventure in the book is there, the whodunit. Someone is after Luca and Samantha and they need to figure out who and why. There will be twists and at times my heart was in my throat, worried for the characters.

And like with Kade's Dark Embrace, I found myself itching for the next book.

Luca and Sam. Sam is a new witch who gained her power while enslaved and be-spelled in the last book. She doesn't remember her time as a slave, and that is probably a good thing! Shortly after she gains her freedom, one of the vampires (Luca) who helped to rescue her is taken and almost killed. But it turns out that she had been the target. Luca is drawn to Sam against his wishes. He likes his bachelor lifestyle and has reason to distrust love and happily ever after scenarios. Sam is in a tailspin from her sudden knowledge of 'Others/Paranormal' and her new membership to that side of life. I got a wee bit tired of her whindging on that, but it didn't ruin anything for me. Luca feels responsible for helping her discover just what the people out to get her, are actually after. I liked both characters. I especially liked Luca as the grumpy, difficult guy who fortunately stays that way throughout the series, despite finding love. The romance between him and Sam was a nice slow build with reasonable doubt on both sides to overcome, but overly prolonged. The mystery was good but not great and the 'badguy' was a bit predictable. But I loved the ending!!

I rated the first book 3 and found this one a little more enjoyable. Following on from book one, it tells of Luca, a vampire, and Samantha, a made witch. Witches are usually born as such, but Samantha was taken captive by a particularly nasty piece of work, and his magic was infused into Samantha. She has no idea how to control it. Luca had an attraction to Samantha when he saved her from said nasty piece of work. After being left for dead, and rescued by Kade and Sydney(from book one)Luca sets off to find Samantha and bring her back to New Orleans. After a fire, a meeting with Kade's maker, Leopold, and the discovery that Samantha needs to find something that could cause disaster for both vampires and werewolves alike, Samantha and Luca set off to find the amulet and each other.

the story itself was good, and it flowed well, with everything making sense. it was just that up to halfway through, it is raw, and gritty. then after they had sex, it gets all lovely and floaty, the dialogue between Samantha and Luca does, and it was a bit off putting.

while reading these books in order would help, it isn't really necessary, as much is explained about Kade and Sydney, and their relationship, along with Luca's part in their past.

a single multi partner scene and some violence.

there are more books in this series, but I don't know if I will buy them.

Ridiculous. It is a paranormal romance and there wasn't anything at all believable about any of it. If I hadn't paid for it, I wouldn't have finished it. I gave it two stars only because I finished reading it.

Amazing!

I am loving this series. I loved Luca and Samantha's story. Luca was alone for centuries and never saw himself falling a human let alone a human witch. Something about Samantha called to him. He instantly felt protective over her. Thinking she was free, Samantha escapes to a mountain cabin only to be pulled back to New Orleans by Luca.

Together they fight to save each other from a dark witch. This story has everything. Suspense, drama and heat. It also has a strong heroine to match the very alpha hero. It's a well written tale that has you wanting more.

Book two in the series is another really great read. The story moves along at a terrific pace with plenty of action!

I really liked Luca from the first book and was thrilled to hear he was getting the next HEA!! The book picked up shortly after the previous one, and we find out about Luca's kidnapping. From the blurb you can tell he gets out of that situation quickly. The dynamic with Kade is really interesting.

Samantha was also really intriguing in the first book. You had to feel for her and what she went through. I loved seeing her grow and get stronger, regaining confidence in herself. She is a perfect match for Luca and I could not have been happier with their story.

The steam was delicious as always!! While the time that they knew each other was short I felt like emotions and feelings were built very nicely. It wasn't just sex, they were deeply attracted to each other and clearly meant to be!

I am really enjoying this series and find the story to be really entertaining. It definitely keeps you on your toes!! I can not wait for the next book, I hear it is that yummy wolf Tristan!! Sigh, he is just so very wickedly delicious!! I am sure he will find a lady to keep him on his toes!!
