A simple and practical book on writing mentality and process. I'm indebted to the author for this advice.

I will reserve final judgment on this book until I actually try the technique suggested (which I'm planning to). I will say that I liked reading this book because it was short and sweet, got to the point without waxing on about the writer's own life (I'm looking at you Stephen King), and gave clear, actionable steps towards improving your writing productivity.

A quick read with lots of useful advice and techniques on ways to improve efficiency of writing. I'm not sure I'm totally on board the more words = better (but that's just my brain and my process, ymmv) but I'm going to be trying out some of the techniques.

This was short, simple, and to the point, however, this book would be beneficial for newer writers. For those who have been writing for a while, like myself, there's nothing in here that's new that I haven't heard before. There are some great tips in here (which I've heard before), but what it really comes down to is practice. Practice, practice, practice, that's how you write faster. Also, voice dictation does help a lot. If you're a seasoned writer or you've been writing for a few years, chances are you've probably heard all the tips in this book and you could probably skip this one, however, if you're a brand new writer this might be very helpful for you.

Great book. Chris Fox keeps explains his methodology in a short concise manner. He doesn't go off on tangents to pad the word count, which I appreciated. He's consolidated a great set of practical exercises writers can use to increase their word counts. Writing sprints, and writing without out editing or stopping seem to the most important. He also speaks about the advantages of dictation, which is something I hadn't really considered for myself until now. This book was definitely worth the price. Thanks Chris!

Like a great many books out there to tell you one way of writing, they will either hit the mark with you or miss it completely.

This one hits the mark and has a small bit of motivation in it to boot. I would say that this rates up there with Stephen King's Memoirs for the Information / inspiration split. Though, this is a much shorter and practical guide, though there is no formula, which is what makes this work for me. Because writing is not a formula, and once writers grasp that, and focus on their attack of their writing, or 'approach' for a less aggressive term, then you can find a way to make it happen.

Though this was not written for me, I feel like the information inside was tailored very much to my personality. We will see how it does, because now, I am armed with the information, and it is up to me to implement.
