My Review Of

The Wedding Date by Zara Stoneley

I read The Wedding Date by Zara Stoneley in one sitting with a bowl of popcorn and enjoyed every minute of (the popcorn too!) Samantha has been dumped by Liam, not just dumped but has found out that his new girlfriend is pregnant! Samantha must attend her best friends wedding and unfortunately two timing Liam is the best man. What follows is a sometimes hilarious , romantic and charming story. Samantha hires Jake, a hunky actor to  play the role of her boyfriend but lets be honest here, I knew from there first meeting that there had to be more. Did I mention that Jake is a hunk, a dog lover and quite charming. Harry the dog stole quite a few scenes with his jump off the pages adorableness. This author knows how to create/write a leading man that is hunky, charming and lovable. I loved Samantha and her dilemma about Liam being at the wedding of her best friend along with her paid for "boyfriend" makes for a wonderful romantic comedy/chick-lit.This review was originally posted on My Fiction Obsession

This was definitely not a book I would pick up again, there was no heat to it, very PG. I was waiting for something to happen and it just dragged on until the last chapter. Yes it was a happy ending, arent they all, but it's the chapters in between that does it for me, and this one certainly did not.

I just loved it! Being American, reading it brings me to England. I loved the story. Great characters that has well rounded personalities and quirks. Funny and serious all at the same time. The author did a great job at wrapping up the story in a unique and heartwarming way. I'll be looking for more from this author.

I started out a little apprehensive about this book, as it is of the 'chic lit' genre and told with a humorous vein raining throughout. At first I thought the humorous aspect was going to make this a tacky and cheesy read, but it really worked and I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and just a few pages in I was gripped.

Main protagonist Sam is off to a wedding where her recent ex-boyfriend will be attending with his new (pregnant) partner in tow. Therefore Sam recruits an actor, Jake, to play the part of her boyfriend so as to avoid feeling like the awkward singleton. From that information alone you can probably predict the outcome of the book, but despite the predictability of the plot it was enjoyable to see how the characters got there. I would highly recommend this book, and can't wait to read more from Zara Stoneley.

So I didn’t hate or dislike this book I just found it quite mediocre. It was ok? I just felt it didn’t pull me in as much as it could have and honestly I needed 🌶. I loved some of the sweet, cute moments but other moments felt rushed or just irrelevant. I don’t know I just feel like there could have been so so much more to this book but was just a bit meh for me, especially the ending.
