I'm continuing my unexpected fantasy romance binge with yet another amazing story: Kiss the Fae. This one is the first of what I'm assuming will be a trilogy(?) and it tells the story of three sisters who end up having to fight for their lives against three faerie brothers. In this world, faeries are not kind or pleasant, but instead are known to be vicious and vengeful. Each of the brothers rule a specific element of their land: the air, the forest, and the river.

In Kiss the Fae, the readers are introduced primarily to Lark, the fiesty and "mutinous" heroine, and Cerulean, the devious anti-hero.

Lark is such a badass, strong and independent character. She loves her sisters more than anything and would do anything for their safety. She fights for her life and the lives of her sisters (and adoptive father), and she learns to stay true to herself throughout the story. Based on her point of view, it seems like Lark is very different from her sisters (despite shared traits) and I loved getting to know her, just as I know I'm going to love getting to know Juniper and Cove as well.

Cerulean was a fantastic anti-hero! Right from the moment Cerulean entered the picture, I kept alternating between being shocked by the devious words and sneaky actions of the hero, and smirking at my e-reader because the sexual tension and subtle flirting was steamy! The build-up between Cerulean and Lark was so much fun to witness, and I loved every minute.

Outside of the relationship, it was really intriguing to get to know this story's world: the other faeries, the fauna, the mountain and magic. It was incredibly creative and complex, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series develops further. Overall, I thought this story was fantastic and I'm looking forward to checking out Jaster's other books soon.

I don't like how the sisters interact with each other, it feels very juvenile. Wasn’t connecting with the MC.

I just want to start of by saying that I’m so grateful that I got an ARC of this book sent to me by the author and @bookofmediamatches on instagram!

In this dark fairytale we follow a girl that has been through a lot, who now faces a new threat as she accidentally crossed into the land of the Faeries. Lark is given the opportunity to fight for her and her sisters lives, if she manage to get through the mountain labyrinth where noting is as it seems before thirteen days have passed.

The writing in this book is so beautiful I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s beautiful prose with lots of sarcastic and relatable comments coming from the main character. Every character is well built and you will quickly fall in love with them all - and the world is even better. To follow Lark’s (the main character) journey through the world of the faeries was a wild adventure and now I just want to visit that magical, deadly land and see it for myself.

And the romance *swoons*. Slow burn, enemies to lovers, angst, it’s everything you’d ever want (and yes, that includes multiple steamy scenes)

Though some things were very obvious, it was such an amazing read. I’ve been in a reading slump for a loooong time, forcing myself to keep reading, but when picking this book up there was no putting it down.

You need this book. Period.
Thank you again Natalia for sending me this ARC!

It took me some time to get into it. I rly liked the idea. But the english is wild. Just a wide array of words and usage of words that I‘m not used to.
The first rly spicy scene got me confused what the author meant with digit like what digit it that a new way of saying d*** ?!
Buuuuut! I‘m glad I took the time to continue reading. I enjoyed the story, the world and the characters very much. And the spicy scenes were written rllllly well!
It’s not like the plot is incredibly deep or unpredictable, but it’s definitely fun to read. I feel it‘s kinda how it’s with romance movies: you know what’s gonna happen in general but you still watch and like 'em. It’s the same for me with this story.

World building confusing. Too much “fluffy” writing. Overly flourished - a whole paragraph about describing the colour of the sun… nah. Not for me.
