This was not fun for me. Everything was too over the top. I figured out from the jump what was going to happen so there was zero thrill. The white people were so white people and that wasn't really resolved. 1 meh star. I wanted to like this. I just didn't.

While this sequel to [b:Dial A for Aunties|53310061|Dial A for Aunties (Aunties #1)|Jesse Q. Sutanto|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1601307658l/53310061._SY75_.jpg|81517137] didn’t have the drama of a murder to pulse through the pages, it took the family to new levels of silliness and fun. Every family has its quirks that seem eccentric to outsiders. If you think your family doesn’t have them, well, you probably aren’t been honest with yourself. Jesse Q. Sutanto has put an explanation point and magnifying glass to the differences—and taken it to the next level to show how, even if you think a family from the same culture would be the same, they are not. What an eloquent reminder that everyone is different, every family unique, and it is these variances that make our world so colorful and exciting. Thank goodness we are NOT all carbon-copies of each other.

This book was just as ridiculous as the first, but I didn’t enjoy it as much. I think it was more a me problem than a book problem. I wasn’t in the mood for such a lighthearted book and found the ridiculousness too over the top. It was still a good read, and I’d like to read it again when I’m in a better mindset for this type of story!
Not as much of a knock out as the first book, but it was still enjoyable spending time with Meddy and the aunties.

I rated the first book 3 stars but I still decided to read this one. I only finished it because it was an audio book. It was pretty jarring and drawn out. It felt like a school essay…and then…and then…
Don’t get me wrong there were a few parts that made me chuckle a little but it isn’t close to as hilarious as some of the reviews I’ve seen have said.

Listened to audiobook
While this book didn't leave me as in love as book one, I still had a really great time!
Note: this is book two in a series so review may be a little spoiler-y for book one
I once again was supper happy I went with the audiobook experience, it adds so much to the story!
I was really happy to be back with the aunties and their shenanigans! This story takes places at our MCs wedding which is being held in England. It was sweet and funny to see how much work the aunties put into fitting into that scene.
I did enjoy the plot to a degree, I did feel a lot of frustration over the fact that Meddy was not communicating with her fiancé/husband throughout this book despite the fact that the poor guy was wondering why she was missing for so much of their wedding! There was also a part that included a couple characters being high or drunk and I don't like when an author relies on inebriation for a source of humor.
But otherwise, I liked the discussion of being in love with your family even though they can be embarrassing. I do wish we addressed Nathan's moms behavior a bit more though, since she was kinda rude.... It was also good to talk a bit about how not all Asians are the same and that they are a diverse group of people.
