Sleeping Beauties is a massive novel and a big story!
To be honest, I found that it was very well written (as to be expected from a book by King), the plot was interesting and the message was cleverly presented to the reader. However, I also thought that it was somewhat lengthy and the end was weird (also as to be expected from King haha).
The thought that the world might be a better place if it was shaped by women is very interesting. What would happen if women and men were completely separated from one another? Would one world result in violence and the other in a functioning society? Or does gender not matter when it comes to building a society from scratch? Where does true strength of character stem from?
As I said, I would describe this book mainly as smart and interesting. It almost seems like a gedankenexperiment, not like an actual novel.
Do you need to read it? Probably, it makes you thing about male privilege, gender roles and individuality. Do you want to read it? Probably not if you're a Stephen King fan, it's nothing like his other books (I guess his son wrote almost all of it).
7/10, can recommend if the idea of society construction separated by gender and its impact on the societal structure interests you.

I really liked this one. It was spooky and gross, but thought provoking. Just very well done!
Owen King brings a certain level of maturity. Stephen sometimes reverts to high school tropes in this sort of narrative, and it appears to be mitigated by Owen.
4.6
This one was so hard to follow... too many names! I enjoyed it anyway.

our place is how the world should be yall just not ready for that conversation
I thought I'd read this book because Stephen King wrote it with his son Owen King and I definitely regret it.
This book was basically a copy and paste of The Green Mile. The only difference is in Sleeping Beauties there's politics in it,the prisoners are women and the Aurora is sending people to sleep.Evie is basically just another version of John Coffee from The Green Mile.
If it wasn't for the Covid19 pandemic I would of put this book down after the first 100 pages. But because I only read 14% of the book at the time,I waited for it to get better but it didn't.This book could of been at least 200 pages shorter because in most places it drags on for a full chapter. There are that many characters in this book that after a while you forget who is who.
I think I will just stick to Stephen King's old books

3.5, could’ve been shorter but I get why they thought it should be long
Enjoyable and kept me reading... enjoyed the timeliness of the story and wonder if the King men had their fingers on the pulse of some future soothsayer.
