Torin si Inang Sang Wabah sudah mencuri hatiku sejak kemunculannya yang nyempil dikit-dikit di LOTU sebelumnya. Dia punya banyak kualitas sebagai hero yang bisa menyetrum hatiku. Sebut saja dia geek yang sangat jenius, punya selera humor yang melumpuhkan dan masih pejaka ting-ting.
Selama ini kekuatiran Torin dan para LOTU membuat dia selalu terkekang dibalik komputer-komputer canggihnya dan menjadi pertahanan terakhir para LOTU. Tapi kerinduan terdalam Torin adalah bisa terlibat dalam pertarungan langsung seperti dulu saat mereka semua belum dikutuk. Dan di dalam buku ini, kamu akan menganga. Torin sangat mengagumkan sebagai Warrior di medan perang. Dia mempesonaku lebih dari semua LOTU karena dia punya kombinasi otak, otot dan selera humor yang mematikan.

Konflik kisah ini muncul saat dia menjadi buruan Red Queen. Siapakah dia? Mahkluk apa yang bisa membuat Iblis wabah melolong ngeri setiap ada didekatnya? Mahkluk ini sudah menghabiskan berabad-abad terkunci dalam penjara Kronos. Dia misterius, cerdas, kejam dan punya kemampuan super ala Wonder Woman. Jadi terbayang sudah bagaimana apesnya nasib Torin saat dia tak sengaja membunuh satu-satunya sahabat gadis itu.

Walaupun mereka musuhan chemistry Torin dan Red Queen sangat kuat, aku menikmati setiap dialog pertengkaran mereka, setiap pingpong saling hina mereka dan pertarungan mereka. Kita akan menikmati proses runtuhnya pertahanan Torin dengan peraturan "jangan sentuh-sentuhnya" dan kegigihan Keeley untuk mendapatkan semua dari Torin.

Buku ini penuh dengan pendakian tensi, humor tajam, karakter-karakter yang tereksporasi, pertempuran yang lebih seru, alur cerita yang penuh twist, dan rollercoaster emosional paling kuat. Seperti biasa ada banyak kisah-kisah tambahan dari LOTU lain yang berparalel seperti Cameo dan calon matenya, anak-anak Maddox, dan penjahat-penjahat baru yang tidak kalah seksi dengan para LOTU. Kelemahannya serial ini bersambung, dan yah 11 adalah jumlah yang besar. Tapi kau tidak akan kecewa, dengan perpaduan mitologi Dewa-dewi dan Titan Yunani, para malaikat dan para mahkluk immortal serial ini jauh dari kata membosankan. Banyak kejutan disetiap buku yang akan membuatmu terikat dan mendambakan buku lanjutannya, lagi dan lagi.

Its time to call a spade a spade. I'm not gonna go back to this. I haven't enjoyed a book by Gena Showalter since Paris and Sienna. I stared reading this in November 2014, its may 2020. Its not gonna happen. I don't even remember any of it.

The Lords have come a long way and their family continues to grow. I was so excited to read Torrin's story and I'm glad to say it did not disappoint. I really liked his and Keely's dynamic. It reminded me of Strider and Kaia. Constant flirting and complete honesty. I can't tell you how many times I cheered with excitement and how many times I shook my head disappointed in the choices made by men. Soo... I'm curious whose book is next? Will William's book be under the Lords or Fallen Angels?? Also I've noticed on boards and in this book that everyone expects him to be with Gilly. I really hope when his book comes that Gena does something unexpected like kill her off permanently or have her fall in love with another human. That would be interesting. But back to Torrin's story.

Best Parts

When Keely found out Cameo was his ex girlfriend. Like seriously how akward is that? By the way I live with my ex....

The love triangle between Hades and Torrin. Keely only had eyes for Torrin but seeing Hades charm her got me excited. I've always been a fan of villians.

The HO Team!! I love that Keely has a type A personality like Anya and Kaia..

Parts I could have done without

Galen's yearning for Legion... Like really dude. You should be making amends with your daughter not chasing your dick.

The indecisiveness and constant flip flopping. DON'T toy with me Gena! Don't make a dramatic statement and then two pages later say Take Backsies!!

The random updates. I understand that we are all fans and we like to know what's going on with the characters as times passes but I almost couldn't keep up with it all. If you want to mention what's up give me a paragraph or more.

Is it me or Reyes was kind of douche in this story???

I am not a fan of repetitious-ness in books, and this author in this series is seriously repetitious (and if you're up to book 11, you already know what I'm talking about) but for this series, it doesn't bother me. I am still in love with this series. She still finds her ways to grab me and keep me interesting. Her regular story line is really excellent.

So like everyone else, I have been waiting for Torin's book, well since I read Maddox's. And I have to say IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Torin is still hands down my favorite Lord, with his sense of humor and all around awesomeness I could not put him down(seriously I finished this book in a day). Keeley was Kaia and Anya put together, but better! She could kick anyone's ass and not even break a sweat. As usual Showalter left me salivating for the next book! I can't decide who I want more Cameo and Lazarus or William and Gilly!!! Ok probably Cameo as Lord of Misery homegirl deserves a break lol! Ok enough praise I'm going to go re-read the series because I didn't realize how much I missed the Lords till now!!

Love Torin and Keeley's together! The Darkest Touch is one of my favorite book in The Underworld Series! A must read!

Keeley Cael, the legendary Red Queen...and low key insane. She is officially in my top ten favorite heroines.

Not only is she powerful as fuuck but she was just so sassy and so *so* crazy

“Fine,” she told him, her chin quivering. “Be that way. You’re nothing without me. I never really liked you anyway.”
“Keeley?” Torin asked.
Rejected by a rock. “Stay out of this, warrior. It’s between Wilson and me”

Seriously guys, the book begins with Keeley verballing sparing with a goddamn rock that’s been in her cage during her imprisonment for centuries and so she has some anger issues towards those bastards

“Calm...steady...don’t want to destroy the entire realm.
Not yet anyway.”

And of course the sexual chemistry!!!

“Great.” Then, when she hesitated, he had the gall to add, “I’m waiting....”
“You should be running.”
“Why? Do you want to stare at my ass?”

Torin the fierce immortal warrior, demon of Disease and who doesn’t love a good tragedy??

“Just so you know, I've eaten warriors like you for breakfast."
"Well, did you spit or swallow? Never mind. Don't answer. Your sexual kinkiness has no bearing on this situation. I'd appreciate it if you focus.">

And honestly I loved how he teased her and their banter was just so greattt

“My inability to rile you is maddening."
"I'll yell at you if it'll make you feel better."
That perked her up, saying, "That would be extremely helpful, thank you."
"How dare you bare your arms in public! You're damn right it makes you a tease. It gives a man ideas. Makes him think you're good at carrying heavy boxes- which just happens to be HIS job! It's humiliating is what it is."

They both alphas and so as a couple just so great together and i loved how he wasn’t super GRR GRR but still dominating.

Just perfect this man is perfect amirite? Well except for the whole giving everyone he touches a fatal disease

“Well, I refuse your offer of friendship and your breakup. We’re staying together, and that’s final.”
