I found this an interesting read on the aspects of being a bottom, both as someone exploring the bottom space, and as someone that likes to top. The book was inclusive and had some interesting views regarding spirituality and BDSM that I haven't seen in my other research.

The only reason it's not getting five stars is because it's rather outdated regarding meeting new people and the internet. That said, it does preach internet-security, which I feel like a lot of people could need a refresher course on!

Informative, eye- and mind-opening, a perfect guide for new but also experienced subs.

A companion to 'The New Topping Book', 'The New Bottoming Book' left me with a lot ofthe same feelings. A lot of the information being the same, only obviously more geared toward the 'bottom' or more 'submissive' side of BDSM.
A guide mostly for beginners, there are a lot of useful tips, tricks, and reassurances. Again, I found that I knew most of the information prior to picking the book up.
I was honestly a bit surprised after reading reviews that called this book 'inclusive' that I found some sections, particularly those on 'gender play' sounded a touch problematic to me, a transgender person.
That said, these are personal issues- and all in all, it is not a bad book for the novice to pick up to become acquainted with safety practices, terminology, and what it means to be a 'bottom'. It's certainly one of the less problematic books I've come across, and with all things BDSM, safety is imperative- and this book states that very clearly.

** I read the first edition NOT this second edition **

This was a fun primer which paired well with the Topping Book by the same authors.
