I enjoyed it and it was interesting to see some of the concepts. Definitely fascinating that Barry is with Patty in this rendition so far.

First off, the art in this book is amazing. Not surprising, given that the book is written by the artists but still very noteworthy, it's definitely some of the best art of the new 52, at least in what I've read.

I wasn't too familiar with the characters going in but this volume has definitely made me a fan of Barry Allan. He's pretty adorable and decent and all the stuff a good hero should be.

The thing that really holds this volume back for me is the fact that I found it difficult to follow exactly what was going on at times. The last issues collected also had some rather exposition-heavy points as well. But the characters are there and it's clear that the creative team has some big ideas for the series, so I'm definitely going to be reading more when it comes out.

From other things I had read/seen, I got the impression that Barry was generally a funny character, and I didn't see that here. In fact, I didn't even think any of the characters were all that likable. The book was pretty dark, and it was too science-y for my tastes (even though the science is all probably inaccurate). I'm not a big fan of stories that jump back and forth in time either, so that probably hurt my enjoyment of the book. I did like the art though!

No Professor Zoom = no 5 star rating. An enjoyable reintroduction to an iconic character and a classic rogue with a couple of new twists. A fresh look at the speed force is much appreciated. But I'm happy to see the same old ever-hopeful Barry just trying to do everything before he runs out time.

Third time around and it just gets better. One of the best from DC in a long time.

Overall the comic of The Flash was a good book here’s what I thought of it.

Why I liked it, it told everything that you needed to know about the book to find out the mystery’s yourself. So, you had the feeling that it was coming and something awesome was about to happen but there’s a twist in the story with Mr. Freeze that changes the whole storyline. And you get the feeling that you don’t want to finish the book, but you do want to finish the book at the same. Because you want to know what happens like, oh no something really bad just happened to the Flash is he going to make it out alive. And the imagery of the book is so good you can see every detail even like when flash goes into a time force you can see what the time force visually is like. It doesn’t just say Flash went through the timeline on the next page you can see it.

But although it’s a good book there are some bad things about it to. For example, the words that they used could have been changed up every now and then. And they don’t add everyone that you see in the TV shows/Movies. But the book has more details than the shows/movies. And the words sometimes don’t really match up with the images in the comic.

But the pages where the words match up with the pictures are really good. And the storyline is interesting with lots of twist and turns and that is what I would say it makes the Flash a good graphic novel overall that I suggest you read if you read it hope you like it.
