Overall good short stories. Paolini has clearly improved vastly as a writer, but there were still a few foibles that had me rolling my eyes.
While it was interesting in a nostalgic way to revisit Alagaesia, it hasn't exactly inspired me to revisit the earlier books. Perhaps the newest entrant to the series will rekindle my love and the rose tint will carry me in its grip all the qay back to Eragon (or perhaps if this rumoured TV show is any good).

rated this too high on my first read-through i fear… angela’s chapter is far and away the best one; angela (author) writes better than her brother in this section and i lowkey want to be her friend. overall the book is just. there ig

The stories were pleasant, but overall, it felt like a big step back for him. It’s closer to Eragon than Brisngr in terms of the “maturity of the prose”.
Awesome to read something from Christopher Paolini again. Looking forward to the next opportunity!
