Yโ€™all Iโ€™m genuinely in shock. This might just be my favorite book of February and it isnโ€™t even over yet ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I loved these characters, I loved this world. Iโ€™m so not ready for it to be over. I think this is one of those books thatโ€™ll stay with me forever, and Iโ€™m so very grateful that I read it. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ll ever truly be over this series, and I think itโ€™ll always hold a special place in my heart. If I keep typing, Iโ€™ll ramble on forever. I give this book 5/5 stars, and a spot on the Hall of Fame shelf.

I made the mistake of starting with this book being the fourth in the series. Although there is enough enough explanation and context clues provided that made this work for me as a one off. I followed the story solely through audio-book so forgive any name misspellings, they are phonetic.

The beginning portion dragged for me and would possibly be too much recap for someone who had been with the series from the beginning (I would assume) but made it worth the build up for the middle and end. There were times I was checking how many chapters were ahead. It is a long read.

I really liked Scarlet and would be interested in reading more on her and Wolf.

The Queen...Levina (sp?) was pretty two-dimensional for a while. To the point where I couldn't help but picture someone like Yzma from the Emperor's New Groove in her place because she was cartoonishly evil. She fleshed out a bit toward the end but by that time, well, her ending came.

Overall a fun revolutionary tale with an interesting sci-fi fantasy take on fairy tales.

I feel like the series stuck the landing and definitely wasn't afraid to stab/shoot/incapacitate main characters for stretches of time, and was a smooth read for 800+ pages (sure, the text is less dense than a mass-market paperback but that's still a bunch of words).

I think it can be tricky to have a character that doesn't have a total grasp on reality, and it was really interesting to see Winter's perspective, as a Lunar who doesn't use bioelectric manipulation and thus taken a toll on her mental health. And of course, from her perspective we have a bit more of the direct fairy tale allusions as she is Snow White with the evil stepmother.

Anyway, time to finish up the short stories and then I can return that to the library too!

This read was wonderful. It was so heart-warming and so very great that I kinda changed my mind about this series. ALMOST. This series just didn't click with me like others did. Don't get me wrong, I actually loved almost all the characters and that's just my opinion. However, if you're looking for something that has veryy little violence and cute romance then that's definitely for you! But ocourse read other reviews first.

I did not give this series a fighting chance the way I read it in tandem with throne of glass over a year and then waited many a month to read the last book and got into fantasy smut at the same time which is such a different vibe

I was so not interested in the series but wanted to finish the last book to say I did. I switched to audio book and upped the speed just to get through it :(

Marissa is a good writer and I at one point was super into the story line and the characters (mostly Scarlett and cress and Iko) but the world building and character development pales in comparison to Sarah j Maas and this was too YA for me -> that being said I would have ATE this up as a tween.

Overall this is a great YA novel and I recommend for literal young adults but as a medium aged adult I wasnโ€™t SLIVING

A great ending to this series! I loved seeing the conclusions to our beloved characters' journeys.

An excellent conclusion to the Lunar chronicles. Having yet another deep character adding to the story expands the world by miles.
